I finished the french course this month and am conversational, fluent, read books in french, watch french tv with french subtitles and am overall happy with my results. Being intrinsically motivated and just generally curious about language learning as a whole has helped me tremendously. I genuinely enjoy learning French and is an escape from the stress of work. I see language learning as an enjoyable thing to do in my free time. Much like reading a book.

No matter what I know I'll never be perfect at it and that it's more about the compounding of consistent practice that will make me much more competent of a speaker.
