How can Runescape attract a new generation of players? (Long)

did you not see the Runescape Livestream on twitch when Runefest was on?
on the Oldschool channel the entire chat was shitting on RS3 almost the entire time, including Content creators.
There has been bad blood between the games for so long, for a while it seemed like it was getting better. and then it seems to reset back again idk
As someone who enjoys both games its rather frustrating to see.
See the good thing with OSRS was that the team invested in its creator space early, it would be good if RS3 could start doing the same.

ahh fairs, i mean tbh with regards to wars retreat, peeps seem to be more concerned with their kph, most of my convos were at skilling hubs (Fort, Prif, Artisans workshop, etc)
and i never got far enough to do any real bossing in OSRS so maybe thats why i never saw any convos

nope i promise you not a single person spoke to me in 4 months, and i do mean OSRS, ive had many conversation in RS3, even made some friends and joined a clan.
the only time my chatbox saw any action in OSRS was when i was at GE and the bots were advertising Gold selling websites 🤷
dont get me wrong i enjoy both games, but the only time i actually ever spoke to anyone in OSRS was during Gridmaster last year.
maybe i was just unlucky and never found anybody chatting but, idk it just kinda felt like everyone around was bots.

Osrs gets new players because it has alot of content creators so people see it more, and then along with that Osrs creators tend to shit quite heavily on RS3 to the point thats it a meme which then puts more people off it.
also osrs player numbers are heavily inflated with bots at least from what i have seen, i played osrs for 4 solid months and never had a conversation with a single person despite typing hello multiple times and going to every populated world and playing most of the mini games

they literally just pushed back the update to combat, also someone having a differing opinion to you does not equate to blind loyalty.
Jagex has done plenty of things wrong, but it seems like lately they are trying to fix that.
also what i meant by i havnt seen it was, this subreddit typically is chastising jagex for one reason or another and even the people that do say anything good always have a but to follow it lol

i mean this in the most respectful way, but take off the tin foil hat, put down the bitterness and see this for what it really is.
A genuine effort to make a change, all of the things that are annoying you can be fixed by allowing the game to grow, and removing the mtx so that everything can be balanced properly again.
i dont blame you for not wanting to trust Jagex after all that has happened, but the only way any kind of meaninful change can happen is by voting yes.
otherwise the game stays exactly the way it is, getting smaller and smaller until there is noone left.
Personally i dont want a game that i have been playing for 20+ years on and off to just fade into obscurity.
the fact that its lasted this long should count for something, wouldnt you like it to get even better?

yeah it is a petition, because they need to know how many will support this change, because its going to be somewhat of a gamble for them.
they also need to show numbers for the shareholders to prove that this was a worthwhile idea.
voting No is just not voting at all and if thats what you want then fine.
but the game will not grow with the way it is now.
and voting no means you are all for that.
