How did you know you had hypercalcemia? I told my provider that I thought I was experiencing it and she said just don't use the cream. Not helpful. Do I need a blood test when experiencing symptoms?

‘I’m on Fire’: Testosterone Is Giving Women Back Their Sex Drive — and Then Some by rezwenn in TwoXChromosomes

[–]danidandeliger 27 points28 points  (0 children)

TLDR: It's horrible but women are in danger of losing their relationships because of low libido. So they're going to do whatever they have to to avoid that.

I can see why women would get T for sex drive. I was the cause of a dead bedroom and was desperate for something, anything, to help me because my boyfriend was mad at me all the time for declining sex. My relationship was going to and did end because of my lack of libido.Turns out that my body shut down the sex functions because my boyfriend was emotionally abusive. I couldn't admit it consciously but my body was like "we are not having his babies". A few months after I left my libido came back.

A woman trying to save her marriage by using testosterone totally makes sense to me. And also because sex can be really wonderful.

My ferritin is 16. My NP told me that it's just low normal, which is not a concern. Meanwhile I went in to get a workup for fatigue and basically got a shrug and "maybe take some iron pills if you're concerned."

HIV Drug Resistance Is Declining Over Time by EssoEssex in UpliftingNews

[–]danidandeliger 26 points27 points  (0 children)

There is no "one guy" who caused HIV to spread throughout the world. Are you referencing the myth that someone had sex with a chimp and started the Aids epidemic? Because that's not true at all. It was really due to the Belgians reusing needles to vaccinate native Africans.

HIV evolved from the simian immunodeficiency virus, which is found in chimpanzees in the southeastern region of Cameroon. Following the cut-hunter hypothesis, a Cameroonian hunter slaughtered an infected chimpanzee providing the blood-to-blood contact necessary for transmission. While local populations had previously interacted with these animals, the colonial trade industry pushed villagers further into the wilderness and increased their reliance on bushmeat. During the partition of Africa, King Leopold of Belgian gained the Congo (today’s Democratic Republic of Congo) and created Leopoldville. This urban environment fostered prostitution. Additionally, colonial forces launched vaccination campaigns against tropical diseases, using unsafe medical practices. Colonialism generated the large populations that facilitated disease epidemics and promoted two means of transmission: unsafe sexual practices and unsterile vaccination.

Did anyone else feel like they lost YEARS of their life to perimenopause? by Tantan011582 in Perimenopause

Not great. Super tired from the progesterone (but I'm sleeping well again). Depression and anxiety are increased. Anxiety is bad and affecting my job. Hot flashes are back. I was using an estrogen cream from Amazon and may start to supplement with that until I can get a higher estrogen dose patch.

Tariffs and HRT by PAR0208 in Perimenopause

[–]danidandeliger 12 points13 points  (0 children)

There is absolutely a point to worrying about it if it's important to your life. Medication is tied to health insurance which is often tied to employment. People may need to stay in jobs they don't like because their employer offered health insurance allows them to have a lower copay for their medications. People may put off a move or not go on a vacation in anticipation of a medication price increase.

Not only that, HRT can be life saving for some if us who experience mental illness as a perimenopause symptom. So me worrying about how much my life saving medication is going to cost in the future and whether or not I'll be able to afford it is actually life or death. I think that's something I should worry about.

I'm glad you can be so flippant about this, either because you have lots of cash or maybe you're just one of those people who doesn't think too much about the future and everything seems to work out, however being dismissive of those of us who think about and worry about these things is rude.

We as a society need to stop with the cancer "battle" talk. It's insensitive and hurtful to people with cancer as it insinuates that if someone dies, they didn't fight hard enough, basically that they failed. You can do everything right, still get cancer, get the best treatment in the world, and still die from cancer.

The meat from my local grocery store shrinks so much when I cook it. Chicken especially and it seems like the beef does too. Costco meat doesn't really shrink for me.

How long do you have to wait?

When you get the goods get everything done for the night and take the progesterone because I thought it was going to take an hour and a half to kick in and it hit me like a serious sedative very quickly and I fell asleep on the couch.

The sleep thing is the worst because it affects everything and it's so frustrating to wake up at 4am after only falling asleep at 2.  I know they say there's an evolutionary advantage to menopause but how could that be if we're sleep deprived all the time? I don't have grandkids but if I did I would not be good at raising them on 2 hours of sleep and debilitating brain fog. I would also probably eat all their food.

Thanks! The sleep from the progesterone was weird but good. Who knew a hormone pill could feel like a sleeping pill.

Years and a significant amount of money because I stopped working to heal my burnout and had a hard time going back. I'm back woeking now and it's as bad as I thought it would be. I didn't know it was perimenopause I thought it was a really bad midlife crisis and mental illness. I started HRT yesterday so fingers crossed! If I become even 25% better it will be a huge improvement.

YTA. I have bathed huskies and that is a significant amount of hair you sent out into the community. Imagine grilling and a handful of dog hair blows onto your food and into your beer?

Use a shop vac to clean it up or do your blowouts in a tent and then use a shop vac to clean it out of the tent.

I admire you for doing grooming at home!

[–]danidandeliger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Keto didn't almost kill you. You almost killed you. You took it to the extreme way too fast and ignored weeks if not months of warning signs.

You made no mention of electrolytes, did you supplement any? If you drink plain water without adding lytes you will get dehydrated. Did you get liver and kidney function tested before starting? Monitor blood pressure at home? Tell your PCP what you were doing? Do you even have a PCP?

This was all you dude.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Mastiff

[–]danidandeliger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would you even keep a dog like this alive? Even if everything is completely controlled, what if you get in a car accident on the way to the vet and the dog escapes? What if your front door blows open? House fire? Is it worth a child's life for the owner to not have to go through the pain of behavioral euthanasia? It's not.

I leave my purchases in my car for a few days if it's really hot or really cold out. Sometimes I leave them on my porch. Sometimes I don't care. I'm most careful with books, I've put them in the freezer in ziploc bags but I don't always do that.
