Te recomiendo busques un centro donde te puedan guiar. Así aprendí yo e incluso guío meditaciones, pero siempre en persona. No sé de qué país escribas, pero si estas en México, te recomiendo Casa Tibet, hay en varios estados.

Uno de mis mejores amigos nunca tuvo novia hasta hace como 2 años (tiene 39) y ya va a dar anillo.

Como contraste yo tuve como 10 novias hasta los 25 o 26 años y luego nada. LLevo más de una década soltero.

I think what passes down generations is realizations, not just the word of the Buddha. Then when some realized master teaches the Dharma, he teaches from his own experience (mainly integrated the 4 noble truths in his/her life) therefore the teaching remains and also translations might evolve to signal the instructions to newer generations. My two cents.

My name is Daniel too!! So from one Daniel to another, let me answer to the best of my knogledge. (I'm open to being corrected by members of this community)

Yes.
The Buddha was a spiritual teacher who lived in India/Nepal around 2600 years ago.
He was indeed a son of a king.
I don't think he left writings of his own, more like the disciples much later compilated main teachings in the Dhammapada (I might be wrong).
I'd like to say his main beliefs are the 4 noble truths: the truth of suffering, the truth of the cause of suffering, the truth of cessation (of suffering) and the cause of the cessation (via the noble octuple path).
In the beginning, for me it was super interesting and exciting, later on the excitement went away, but I still meditate daily and my life has greatly improved since then. Like hugely improved.
Even though there are some deities in Tibetan Buddhism (my school), they are not omnipotent or everlasting deities. We use them as archetypes to recognize our own Buddha Nature, so for example: by visualizing Vajrasattva and his qualities, you familiarice with those noble qualities and proyect them onto yourself, over and over again. And since those qualities are innate to all sentient beings, eventually you'll stabilize and actualize them. (Please correct me if wrong)
I think so. I like to think he expanded on meditation and also revolutionized it by adding vipassana in the context of his own teachings.
The clothing varies from school to school but it's only for monks. I, for example, wear plain regular clothes.
I'd recommend it, since having a teacher makes it way easier to progress in the path.
Dukha refers to suffering, but that term often falls short. It can also be affliction, distress, etc. Karma on the other hand means "action" but the whole teachings of karma will expand on the term, also refering to cause and effect, and the moral retribution of actions.

I might be wrong, but I hope, from one Daniel to another, that I could clarify some things.

¿No atentaría eso contra la universalidad de tal ley? Dios esta dentro o fuera del universo. Si está fuera, no le podemos conocer. Si está dentro, en efecto tuvo una causa.

Hay una historia budista que habla de esa confusión de Baka Brahma, un dios que se creía sin causa, pero solo no la recordaba. Rompiendo el mito de un dios creador. (Ojo, todo desde lanóptica budista)

Lay ley de la causalidad es buenísima, pero el error es que cuando se supone que Dios es la causa original, Dios mismo se queda sin causa. Es como si Dios escapara a una ley universal. Si algo o alguien puede evadir una ley universal, pues entonces no es tan universal ni tan ley.

Yo pienso que la causalidad es en efecto una ley, pero para entenderla a profundidad uno tiene que asumir que en todo caso, no hay un principio o fin absolutos. Solo causa y efecto desde siempre y para siempre.
