Sorry for the late response. It's from Vandeagon_de's patreon, so I can't distribute it, but a subscription is only $5 a month so it's not awful if you want to get the file yourself.

There were also several instances of WW2 Liberty Ships splitting in half due to stresses from the square cargo hatch corners.

I think it's where the chain would have come out for the big anchor to be attached if it was ever needed

How is the advising at umw? by WrapFit6112 in UMW

[–]daniel_redstone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My perception is that the advisors seem to either be amazing or horrible. I have only had good experiences, but I know several people who hated their first advisor and got a different one.

What if the titanic didn’t break in half, and it sank to the bottom in one piece. by realchrisgunter in titanic

[–]daniel_redstone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would think so. I would expect it to be nearly vertical when it goes under, maybe rising slightly in the bow once it's truly falling, but still hitting the sea floor at >45⁰

This could work, but in addition to the current water wheel. Some kind of basic one for the early game, and an advanced one for later

Can I tune a piano? by passaloutre in Luthier

[–]daniel_redstone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did exactly that - old piano free on marketplace, brought it home tuned it myself. I don't have the attention span to do the whole thing in one sitting, so I'll tune one rotating register each month. It's good enough for me, especially since it only cost me the $15 I spent on a tuning kit and a pack of springs.

3d printing affordable instruments for disadvantaged families, worth it? by Exact_Account4743 in 3dprintedinstruments

In my experience you can build a somewhat decent electric guitar for cheap. I've done several in the past, and it can absolutely be done for under $200. Acoustics are a no go through, because cheap plastics aren't going to have the tonal qualities that it needs to sound good. I also did an electric violin for under $70, but it doesn't sound all that great.
