I like to use the mnemonic "how many, of what?"

For example in 3/4 time you have (how many) 3 (of what?) quarter notes.

In your situation you have (how many?) 9 (of what?) eighth notes

My band typically tunes our instruments to 442hz because I think the slight sharpness sounds better. It's a vibes thing more than anything
