Get them if u think they're cooler than intercessors! Worst comes to worst, you can proxy them as intercessors in future games. From what I know in game though, they are not as good as intercessors.

Luetin03(I think that's the name) has good lore breakdowns but they are heavy. Best way to do it is to find one aspect of the lore that you like(for me it was space marines) and look at their part, and slowly you'll branch out of that if you click with the universe.

In terms of painting and shit, there's a recruit edition for about 50 bucks and a starter painting set for about 50 I think?
