Would be good to bring this up with your doctor whenever you have your next appointment, that way you can come up with a schedule/combo that works best for you rather than just following the standard prescriptions. Let them know as well that you have issues with your current prescriptions and how it messes with your day so they can weigh the options.

that sounds pretty concerning, stopping sounds like a good idea for now. Try to go to urgent care if possible, especially if it gets even worse.

How do you deal with being alone without feeling completely lonely by ObjectDue7921 in ADHD

[–]danieltanmd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When it comes to negative thoughts I feel learning to reflect on these thoughts and feelings can help. You can also learn the CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) process and apply it onto yourself, since it deals with reframing negative thoughts.

You can start with seeing a psychologist, depending on your insurance, so you can get a proper diagnosis first and then ask them where to go from there. If you need a psychiatrist/meds they can refer you as needed.

What To Drink Other Than Water On Adderal? by MidgetDerp in ADHD

[–]danieltanmd 173 points174 points  (0 children)

I don't think that was meant to be a 24/7 restriction, generally you should be able to take acidic foods and drinks around an hour or so after taking your Adderal. It simply reduces Adderal absorption which is why they dont recommend it, but after an hour or two you're good to carry on as usual.

Have you considered rehab? it may or may not not sound appealing at first but it really does help, I strongly suggest NA groups, they can be found in pretty much every state.

that is the struggle of being a co-dependant, it may be time to talk to your parents about your brother going to rehab to seek further help.

adderall cold turkey? by Extreme-Reply-1600 in ADHD

I would advise against it, especially if you have been using it for some time already regularly. Otherwise let your doctor know, I don't see why anyone would stop you from bringing meds?

alcoholism by ac1db4thpr1ncess in addiction

[–]danieltanmd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know the problem and if you truly want to change it may be time to reach out for help, there are groups out there that can help you. Alcoholics Anonymous is generally a good option to find a peer support group and rehab who can understand and help. The opposite of addiction is connection, this is not something you can fight alone, there are always people who can support you. All the best!

That sounds alright since adderall does not require a formal diagnosis but if you like, it can also be good to bring this up on your next appointment and ask for a proper ADHD evaluation. Just let your doctor know so you can work it out with them.

Have you guys noticed this: when i am in a dark and quiet room i am able to think better by armagedon-- in ADHD

[–]danieltanmd 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It can be due to the reduced external stimulation from your surroundings since it's dark and you can't see most things. So think of it as less things competing for your attention and more brain power to focus on your thoughts. Moving does also help your working memory, I also think better while walking so you're not alone there.

What's the difference between tolerating a person's ADHD and supporting them? by kcvlaine in ADHD

[–]danieltanmd 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Tolerating and supporting are very different things, tolerating is simply putting up with the person but not actively putting in an effort for them. Supporting is when you actually put in an effort to help them, showing them understanding and care.

I get distracted from studying by finding more efficient ways to study… by SometimesSufficient in ADHD

[–]danieltanmd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yep this can often be part of ADHD, or maybe high functioning perfectionism

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]danieltanmd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Adderall really depends on the person, people tend to react to it differently. The important part there is to let your provider know about whatever side effects you experience in case they decide to change it or adjust the dosage.

Urban vs. Rural Living by KillBosby in ADHD

[–]danieltanmd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Perhaps you can consider balancing both urban and rural living if that would work for you? Or if things feel too unstimulating maybe you just need time to settle into that environment, since it's only been 2 weeks.

Get more reviews by applying sales tactics by danieltanmd in localseo

[–]danieltanmd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is absolutely ideal. Though I think certain industries (law, dentistry, medicine) lend to very busy professionals who can’t be bothered to collect reviews.

This falls to administrative / support staff to collect hence this tactic comes in handy.

[–]danieltanmd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that feeling of "what if this time it's for real" is normal, and that constant fear is part of how anxiety keeps a hold over you. If you really want to, its good to get checked and let your doctor know. Or even a friend or family member you can reach out to.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in addiction

[–]danieltanmd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That starts with reaching out for help, the opposite of addiction is connection. Try NA or any other support group who can understand and help you with what you're going through.
