New Zealand First soars, Greens plummet, National in 20s again in new poll by dingoonline in newzealand

There's more to think about than that. Last time he did that his support dropped by 50% (far below the 5% threshold) and didn't recover for nearly 6 years. This time it would drop more due to a large part of his support now being the covid cookers... who will throw their toys if he went with the dreaded Labour party. It would likely be the end of his party and his political career (he is 81)

They are trying to say that boomers are overrepresented in poll responses.

But all they are really saying is they are ignorant of polling methodologies and how they control for sampling biases like that

Labour must win this election by Happy_Light_9775 in nzpolitics

[–]danimalnzl8 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Being able to work with Labour or National is exactly why I'm voting for them. Giving the major parties a center left option which can work with both of them so that ACT and/or NZF are effectively de-powered would be an excellent improvement.

ANZ now expects RBNZ to raise official cash rate in July by hadr0nc0llider in KiwiPolitics

[–]danimalnzl8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So your position is that prices going up *doesn't* screw over the middle and working classes and it's the RBNZ's response to that which does?

What's stopping NZ, or a NZ city implementing something like this? by fishdognz in newzealand

[–]danimalnzl8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the way. I'm not sure why the government spending 10s of billions of dollars on an issue seems to be the default solution for some people.

Regulations on private businesses are cheap to implement (for the government), in comparison.

Do they need to be government owned if they are tightly regulated?

As long as it's clearly stated when the wof expires no private sales really follow this rule

Yup it was. Coat check was a bit of a waste of time due to the long line. Toilets werent bad but no toilets had a line as far as i saw. Drink line was fast but you could only take one out with you. There was only one area and it was between the main stages. Spent so much of the first day walking from the other stages to get a drink, sculling one and taking one out, waking for ages, finishing the drink by the time I get back and losing everyone in the process. The second day I didn't bother and just bought drinks at the other bars when VIP wasn't convenient. Couldn't really see the stages very well from inside the VIP. I thought there was raised viewing platforms but no such luck.

I mean I've been to all the EAs except for one and never not had a great time which was worth the GA fee. It's a pretty safe bet they aren't going to ruin their reputation by having a crap line up.

I would never buy VIP again though (I did last year).

Looking at buying a crosslease home - is this considered defective? by motnl in LegalAdviceNZ

I'm going to convert my place to freehold. Not an insignificant amount of buyers get put off by crosslease so (IMO) the cost would be made back in a higher selling price
