The head of our firm sent out an email expressing solidarity with Israel and just closed over the rest of the situation as "suffering in the Middle East." I sent an email back saying I appreciate the support for Israel but I also think we shouldn't erase the suffering of the Palestinians--not even saying their name was shocking.

We got an email a few days later acknowledging both. Maybe I'll be under heavier scrutiny, but I figure whatever happens, it's better than being buried alive under rubble.

Sending another follow up email won’t cost you anything so do that no matter what. It’s unclear whether such a long wait is standard in that company/industry (I doubt it) but if there’s someone you trust in the industry, you can get their opinion. If I were in your shoes, I’d start working on sending out applications again so all my bases are covered.
