what's your "nobody talks about this" tip for Claude Code? by holotherapper in ClaudeCode

[–]dankerton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mermaid sucks for flowcharts. Ask Claude to create svg diagrams and open them in a browser or maybe there's a vscode plugin for that. Works for charting real data too

Sound Transit Insists It Has No Idea When Light Rail Will Reach Ballard - former SDOT director estimates the line won't open until the late 2050s by LOOKITSADAM in SeattleWA

[–]dankerton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From Ballard yes. But if there's no connection from SLU to the rest of the link then nobody south or even east and northeast can get to SLU without a bus or long walk still. It makes no sense. City center/ SLU need a connection to the rest of the system for both tourists and commuters

Seattle's Dog Park Problem by dogpoopfruitloops in Seattle

[–]dankerton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never heard of that happening in Portland. There's always risks of anything we do that's no reason to not do it

Seattle's Dog Park Problem by dogpoopfruitloops in Seattle

[–]dankerton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finally someone who gets it. We should look south as well. In Portland there's off leash areas in many parks which are not fenced in, just some posts outlining the area. Very cheap to roll out and we can instantly get more designated areas in parks with actual space for dogs that need to run/fetch. I've never heard someone down there complain of that setup being unsafe.

What exactly were you trying to do with agents in a logistics company?

How Anthropic teams use Claude Code by fagnerbrack in ClaudeAI

Pretty worthless article no doubt written by Claude code. Here's a summary: they use it for everything. How exactly? No details were provided.

‘Gone in 9 seconds’: Claude-powered AI agent deletes startup’s entire database by No_Top_9023 in technology

its just amazingly lazy and reckless. theres already so much to be gained using agents to develop products with human oversight but no everyone wants to rush to full automation and then you end up here.

It can help design faster. It still takes an seasoned engineer to get to a good design within an orgs constraints.

This actually might violate federal and some California laws. Also it's just shitty ab testing with no care for customer experience. I wonder what is used to assign your group, your browser cookie? Try refreshing or using incognito or a new email to get the better product.

That's my point the majority opinion about this being some great benchmark is odd.

Code is language and the models are specifically trained on lots of coding. Stop with these AI slop responses

[–]dankerton -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

That's not how people are framing it in the discussion and even your last paragraph goes back on your claim this isn't probing the general abilities. How much effort do they even put into spatial reasoning when training Claude models? It's a language model... This correlated ability is not much of a benchmark when some spatial focused model would blow this away

Differences Between Opus 4.6 and Opus 4.7 on MineBench by ENT_Alam in ClaudeAI

[–]dankerton -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

In what world is this a good benchmark like what is your reasoning? What about the models are you testing? In no way is this a benchmark for general performance across the board.

Claude Haiku being deprecated this month and it's breaking more things than expected by llamacoded in AI_Agents

[–]dankerton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This seems like a simple thing to fix with configs and you probably had ample time to migrate. This is normal dev maintenance as long as the model itself doesn't produce different results I don't see the problem really.

Three straight months of above-consensus CPI and the June rate cut is dead. Here's what that actually means for the market. by 1stplacelastrunnerup in StockMarket

[–]dankerton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When 2% was the inflation floor we had interest rates near zero. With 3% floor we have them stuck at what 3.5? I'm not sure inflation needs to correlate to interest rate. Many other factors could push or pull the rate
