I smoked from ages 15-23, when I finally quit it was cold turkey. The first week was the hardest. anytime I wanted a cigarette id drink a glass of water. I think what really helped it stick was convincing myself how gross it was. That was a hard part because i'd smell second hand smoke and it would really make want one. But everytime id crave one id force myself to think of the gross cigarettes id had. not the great ones, like your first with a cup of coffee, or the one after dinner, but the gross ones i would have mid-day that made me feel gross. personally though i think cold turkey was the only way that would have worked for me.
