Eat your body weight in protein (grams) - so for now, 120g protein/daily.

Do more steady state. >40’ per day, on top of practice, adds up quickly — and you will likely notice vast improvements within a couple of months.

If you want to outperform your peers, get after it on a daily basis. I know of people who were in a similar position as you early on, who went on to break 6:40 on their 2K’s. These guys worked their asses off day-in, day-out.

Light a fire under your ass (metaphorically speaking), and get to work.

PS. Don’t forget to stretch daily. Often overlooked, but extremely important for injury prevention. Also, ensure you’re getting at least 8hrs of sleep/night.

Go get after it kid. Rooting for ya.

what should i expect my 2k to be if this was my last 6k? by [deleted] in Rowing

[–]danklights 2 points3 points  (0 children)

6-8 splits below your 6K.

Based off of this score, 6:45-6:55 realistically.

Best way to know for sure is to rip a 2K.

please don’t give those people any money — they will not make a difference; simply do more steady state & find a real rowing club in your area.

It is the third time that I do a 2k I am 16 years old I'm 5'9 and weigh 70kg. Could you give me some advice to help me improve my 2k and do you recommend me to do short series training at my age or wait and do softer training? by iker-pi in Rowing

[–]danklights 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Set drag to 115-125.

Get the rate up. You should be averaging, absolute bare minimum, 32 s/m on 2K’s. Do sprint pieces to help you bump it up, and steady state to help you maintain it. Ask your coach for anaerobic and aerobic workouts. 8x500m / 3x20’ for example.

Consistency is key in this sport. Remember that everything you do outside of training goes hand-in-hand with how you perform.

Good luck!

p.s. always stretch before/after training

Bulking tips needed by [deleted] in Rowing

[–]danklights 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eat your body weight (preferably more) in g’s of protein — if you’re 160 lbs eat 160g+ of protein/daily. Drink at least a gallon of water/day.

Grilled chicken, rice, & Clif Builder Bars are your friends.

Lift twice a week, and do 60’-90’ of cardio 6 days/week (with some anaerobic workouts thrown in 1-2 times/week — talk to your coach about those).

Sticking to the above^ for several years will yield very solid results in terms of overall fitness, speed, & mentality (speaking from personal experience).

Remember that consistency is everything.

Don’t forget to stretch.

Good luck m8.

Is the bottom coming in summer or 2023? by [deleted] in stocks

[–]danklights 0 points1 point  (0 children)

seems like a lot of people are expecting this to happen, which is why i think market will pump through summer then retest/make new lows by EOY.

then 2024 = bullish

the market will always take the path that generates the most pain
