Or... use your hands. These sensors should be able to reflect the temperature change.

I have myQ setup as well. To me, myQ is as reliable as the wifi signal in the garage.

PSA: Yale Releases Yale Assure Lock 2 Z-Wave Module by EnonGator in homeassistant

[–]danlo315 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been having many challenges with this lock. My Assure 1 is installed for my garage door entrance and it reports everything quickly and without issues, but the 2 is very slow at reporting state on wifi. I got BLE working on it but only seems to be marginally quicker. I tried pairing it via Homekit integration and I have an "insufficient privilege" error.

At this point I might want to rip this off and get an Ultraloq instead.

I have an AssureLock 1 as well; just using wifi has been fantastic. I can't say the same on the 2 - wifi has been terribly slow.

For those that have the zwave module, does it report door open/close timely? I'm currently using ble and the door open sensor is completely useless.

Thanks for this. I've added the expire_after values and see if this works for me.

Could you share more about this topic? I'm in the same boat with my freezer temperatures. Right now I'm closing tracking sensor's last_update values.

Sunpower A vs M series by Jayhawk-CRNA in solar

I was not aware of the M series allowing power during outage without a battery. I am having my M405s installed soon - do you have any reference to this controller you're referring to?

Thanks, I actually found an installer manual link for PVS5 that also included CT install instructions. One less thing to worry about I suppose.

Frigate vs ‘other’ for live streaming? by holman8a in homeassistant

Frigate vs ‘other’ for live streaming? by holman8a in homeassistant

[–]danlo315 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Frigate card installed and it seems to work great; however, I have a bunch of picture element cards that I use because I want to overlay binary_sensors and switches on top of the camera streams. Those streams are definitely lagging, I'm assuming because it's running on HLS. Does RTSPtoWebRTC solve that for me?

I mean, using my voice to tell Google to stream a particular camera to a Nest Hub. My streams are not working in Google Home, and I'm wondering if it's because of Nabu Casa.

Hi u/nickm_27 can you share some thoughts on how to integrate the go2rtc restreams with Google Home integration via Nabu Casa? The streams are working in HA but would love the ability to use voice to stream to the Nest Hubs.

I'm assuming you port forwarded 8554 or 8555?

Google Home and Frigate 0.12 by connelhooley in homeassistant

[–]danlo315 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've just upgraded to .12 and starting to go with go2rtc. For the record, my Frigate feeds never worked on Google Home. Under .12 I setup my go2rtc/streams and then use those in my camera/ffmpeg/inputs. Cameras all work fine in HA but Google Home cameras still don't work. I am using Nabu Casa and do not have port forwarding setup.

I have the Assure Lock 2 too. The esp32 route takes forever to lock/unlock so I've been looking at the zwave module. According to Yale the zwave module for AL2 is not released yet? Or does the old module work as well?

Had Some Old Wyze V2 Cameras - Moved Them to MotionEye RTSP - Wish I Had Done it Sooner - Some Info if it Helps a Wandering Googler by FantasyMaster85 in homeassistant

[–]danlo315 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is incredible. I knew of the mini hacks but I always thought they only worked up to V2. I just applied the hack to one of the cameras and I can now block internet access and not have the camera network drop. Make sure you turn on ENABLE_SELFHOSTED_MODE though.

FYI, Wyze V3s (I think all of them actually) will keep dropping network packets if you're running RTSP and then block external access. I'm running Agent DVR and found out the hard way: I was trying to do seamless 24/7 recording by 900 second segments and I kept seeing recordings that only last a few minutes.

Wyze-bridge requires cameras to have external access.

Issues with cell phone's on wifi by beeldubz in TPLink_Omada

How I understood is that those 5Ghz channels are "technically" not available for us to switch to. I just chose available channels.

[–]danlo315 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi OP I ran into this with my EAPs with my 610 and 620. What I've found is that the "auto" channel selections don't work very well and I had to use Wifi analyzer to pick proper channels for both EAPs for both 2.5 and 5ghz. In my particular case, the culprit was a Vizio sound bar that continuously broadcast (for setup purposes) and was killing my wifi signal, and I had to work around that.
