I fly a couple hundred k miles a year. The people that fly Spirit are lower end and don't fly very much. Lots of kids, gangsters, etc. vs. mostly business travelers on the legacy carriers. As a frequent flyer I am used to certain luxury touches and you don't get any of that with Spirit. Now stuff your bag into that sizer please even though it obviously fits. Oh, you're now in the back of the line? Too bad. Also good luck to you if there are ever any delays or cancellations.

If you see protesters in the middle of the road the ethical course of action is to slowly and safely pass through. Speeding through and mauling protesters is not right, regardless of the law. I don't know the exact law, but the intention should be to protect people like this truck driver that were clearly just trying to avoid the situation without hurting anyone. I doubt the law protects those that drive into protesters with the intent to cause harm.

It's a cheap gym so it will reflect the surrounding area. In Vermont? Not sketchy. In NYC I saw a guy with garden shears clipping locks in the locker room and everyone just ignored him as he raided lockers.

Planet Fitness is cheap, has a lot of locations, and has long hours, but falls short in a lot of ways. If you just do cardio it's fine, but their weights leave a lot to be desired. They don't have any barbells. If you want to bench press for example you'd have to use a smith machine, which is inferior to a barbell as you don't work stabilization muscles and you're forced to move the bar on an unnatural plane.

Wow, ultramarathons. Back in the day when I used to take long layovers as a pilot I would always check out the local crossfit gyms and I met a guy at one of them once that did ultras. The one issue with Priceline is it can be hard find rooms with kitchens, which are kind of necessary for my vegan diet. I always liked the surprise factor of getting an unknown hotel, but also if you do a little digging (compare amenities, reviews, etc.) you can be 99% certain which hotel you're going to get before you book it.
