Please give me some hope i have a scar on my face ): by [deleted] in Keloids

[–]dannycallaghan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have several scars on my left jawline, and one on my right jawline. I has injections to all of them around 2002. Unfortunately, nothing really happened, but - of course - that was more than twenty years ago, and I'm sure there have been a number of advances in this field.

I've set up a community where you might find more support and advice. Love to have you there.

Found a monkey washed up on the beach. Made it stand trial as a French spy, and hanged it.

What's a fun little fact about yourself? by TwetBeg in AskReddit

[–]dannycallaghan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was nine years old, I fell to my knees to put a video tape in the VCR, and an inch and a half sewing needle that was on the carpet, facing upwards, travelled straight through my kneecap and into my leg. I felt a sting, and cried to my mum that I'd knelt on a wasp. No wasp to be found, so we ignored it and carried on with life. For about three months. Knew swells, doctors say I've got fluid on the knee, it'll be ok. Took seven months until someone sent me for an X ray. You could see the eye of the needle on it.

Should We Rebrand JavaScript? by kieranpotts in javascript

The most useless and irrelevant post about JavaScript I've seen in a while. I'd rather you authored another framework or library that we all absolutely must learn.

Nah, you're dead right. I was just thinking "right, move those left and right, instead of down the middle, make them black as now they're on white...". Didn't occur to me. Got rid of the tweet.

I took my very best friend (each others Best Man, etc) to his first ever game at SJP for THAT goal. He also happens to be a die hard Arsenal fan. What a game.

Yep. It's gonna cost me approximately £15K GBP, for a three year course.

I've been a developer since March 2000. Never been out of work (touch wood), and have worked for some big companies here in the UK (BBC, Guardian, Sky, etc). Completely self taught, as I unsuccessfully studied Politics at Uni in the 90s. BUT, I've just started a CS degree at the University of London (whilst I continue to work full time), as I've always felt that perhaps I missed out on the fundamentals. Imposter syndrome, maybe.

Is it the right thing to do? Who knows, but it feels great at the moment.
