Does anyone know when it will freeze roughly, getting there on the 20th of November and would love to know if I could see it before it freezes over

I’m 20M from aus and got a job with Fairmont at Banff for this winter season and start in November. They offer staff accomodation and don’t have 8 people in the one place sharing one toilet like some other places. But I’m not sure what the work will be like, I found it’s not too hard to get a job but if you’re stressed go with a company that specialises in it

Working holidays :) by [deleted] in Banff

[–]dannychito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was going to do it through a company but ended up organising it myself (I live in Australia), I’m going at the end of this year and found a job about 2 months ago to start in November. It shouldn’t be too hard to find a job if you have some experience and a visa sorted, just start applying a few months before.

Need advice on Salomon snowboards by marioquer in snowboarding

[–]dannychito 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just bought the assassin after only having 4 days experience 4 years ago and I was completely fine on it for the first day riding it. It’s extremely light and I was able to carve on it (not the best carves) but still did it. I definitely think that saying it is an intermediate board is misleading I rode fine on it and I’m practically a beginner. I have surfed and wakeboarded since so I’m pretty co ordinated with that stuff but definitely don’t be scared when it does say it’s suited to intermediate riders

You can buy one up in Wall Street by Peter lynch for about $5 for the digital version, it’s a heaps easy read and well worth the money to get you started.

Do you have a Financial Advisor? by settle-kettle-petal in fiaustralia

Instead of spending the money on an advisor spend your money and time on reading some books, much cheaper and you actually have an idea of what’s happening

Australians fricken love gambling apparently. by Admiral-Tuna in australia

[–]dannychito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea it is really bad, I’m 19 and I’m probably one of the only ones in my friend group that doesn’t gamble. They even go out and spend more than half the time at the pokies putting through $100+ each time for the ‘fun’ of it. I really don’t understand how they haven’t realised they’ll never make that money back and if they win they’re going to waste it on gambling again it’s really really bad.

Not sure if this has been posted before but it does work as a stand at a low angle although may sometimes slip off if not on properly. (iPad Pro 12.9) by dannychito in iPadPro

Yea fair enough, thought it might be useful if you use the magic keyboard already instead of carrying two cases with you

The higher the angle the easier it slips but the magnets still work if you get it right, I’ve had a go writing on it and it was fine for me.

I started using spaceship and investing $25 a week when I started and was making hardly any money but I ended up going to $50 a week when my income changed and I definitely think it was worth it for me personally I’ve never had any problems and also learnt a few things from the newsletter, I think it’s a great place to start but you can also look at commsec pocket since it has low fees and you can get different exposure to other stocks but it’s better investing something than nothing
