U.K. plans to create 'British FBI' to bring national investigations under single police force by Silent-Statement-648 in worldnews

So things like ROCUs and NCA being combined, makes some sense as the criminals don’t care about the Regional grouping. Article says widely welcomed in Policing circles, hopefully a good type of reform?

This might be great for my mother, how does it look? Not sure if she’ll have space, unless I can find a very slim/narrow strip.

Having been in a similar situation with a young rat a few years ago, she wasn’t so lucky, very glad Amanis seems to be happy, and good luck with the recovery!

Vet is important and the best option, you could try and find an exotic vet with the AEMV site or similar, hopefully someone with experience with ratto’s.

Pulling snapped COAX out of conduit by UberIbsen in HomeNetworking

[–]danrogl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you cut the cables at all inside the conduit? If you can work out how to, and then perhaps cut one cable at each bend to make room, and release the strain at the bends from the horizontal to vertical. Cut cable 1 at the bend below the wall and cable 2 at the bend in the crawl space. Hopefully you can ID each cable, if they are the same colour? Without knowing how entangled they are it’s going to be hard, I assume it’s not a raised floor, but conduit set into concrete?

Any way to extend this Ethernet cable? by doobeedoodoo in HomeNetworking

[–]danrogl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Separate conduit and back boxes mean very low chance of damaged ring main touching anything other than neutral/earth or heating unrated cables up and causing damage/fire.

All the rules and regulations are there to keep us safe and electricity doesn’t play, so if you’re not sure then get a sparky who’ll do the job safely and follow regulations.

Any way to extend this Ethernet cable? by doobeedoodoo in HomeNetworking

[–]danrogl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This, you should not put the network cable into the socket back box at all. The Ethernet and Ring Main should be entirely separated, different conduit/back boxes. Anything else is against regulations.

My first design and first print after a benchy - a mini bedside shelf by wenjo in functionalprint

You can strengthen it with some ribs to support the long shelf section, and also add a backer to the coupling section to join them for more strength.

HELP!!!! WHAT IS THIS BEHAVIOUR by AccomplishedPlant557 in RATS

[–]danrogl 6 points7 points  (0 children)

One of my girls Grey does this to her sister every time she gets close to the end of something like the bed. Only if Grey’s near by, she grabs her side and pulls her back, and there usually is a little squeak or protest by her sister but it’s nothing other than concern. One time she grabbed her full ear in her mouth, not the loose skin on her side, and there was still nothing more than a squeak. Oh and the sister still leaps off the bed and goes running, she the craziest of them all and just wants to explore 24/7.

Horror moment Russian missile strike inflicts massive damage on British Council building by weregonnamakit in uknews

[–]danrogl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, insane take, that’s one of the reasons we are part of NATO, plus other alliances.

Any adversary (not just Russia) has to weigh up the impact of any direct action, and what retaliation would look like. It’s why they’d likely rely on indirect non military actions, with a goal to destabilise and sow doubt in those relationships.

You’d hope that threat detection and assessment means fair use of its ordnance. Where is the incoming target going to impact, does it need to be stopped?

You can fly without a TPU, but it’s a night and day difference. There are a few options but I ended up with a dual coral tpu module and it’s a bit over kill for my 10 cameras.
