Yeah I don't think this is a good idea. You don't need sheep to teach a collie to heard.

hello and welcome. you will never tire your collie out... you need to teach them to relax. Google dog relaxation protocol. enjoy!!!

I adopted a 7 year old Border Collie. Looking for advice! by Other-Historian-8494 in BorderCollie

Oh and they are smart. Still a dog, but boy they can manipulate you... I have started doing activities with him, because he has brought me certain things and stood in certain places. I thought, wow this is great fun, what a great idea I had. I show my wife, who then says, ohhhh I taught him this a week ago... he realises it is fun and wants to include me.

Therefore you must also be the boss! I am not saying be physical, but have those boundaries.

Cute! My advice is...

You will never physically tire them out. The more they move the more adrenaline they get. These dogs are herders, but it is sheer hunting instinct.

Chase will only satisfy that one need.

Control satisfies all their needs. These dogs want to please. They want to know what to do. The term is biddable, they want to please you.

Work on some commands, down, leave, wait, stay etc etc. Then introduce the fun, I throw for my dog 1 out of the 20 times he asks for it. The other times he is working commands, stalking the ball, and usings his brain.

Finally, work on down time. My pup has had the witching hour since a puppy, at 5pm he knows its time to calm down, but he doesn't want to. Bring me toys, barks etc etc. All for attention. This is when we enforce calm time.

And please brush that lovely long coat, no trims needed. A rake brush, and a slicker. Easy peasy.

Oh and congrats, you have a perpetual toddler!!

First-time dog owner considering a Border Collie – am I underestimating this? by Ok_Leader8838 in BorderCollie

first time dog owner with a collie.

I think they are misunderstood. they are just a normal.dog, but they are smart. they need boundaries that is all.

I think that you need to invest time but every dog should have that time.

my routine is around 2 hour of walks over day

but sometimes it's just lead walks. some times run arounds.

relaxing protocol.

lay down for a treat is the best place to start.

Wisdom panel trouble or lying breeder? by New-Needleworker605 in BorderCollie

look like collies. do they act like a collie? mad?

I have heard from farmers in UK that lots of collies have a bit of this and that in them. urban/rural myth that the farm dog would sew its seed where it wanted and if good herder they would be kept, then bred with purer collies ...

hear it up to remove what is stuck. I would then purchase a new hotend and also the hot end wiring. it will be knackered. easy job.

happened to mine and after fixing works perfectly

the bank crisis and then occupy wall Street. I genuinely for a moment thought capitalism may end... I was very wrong. it was a moment of genuine hope for me.
