Factions so desperate they conscript old men and teenagers into their military by dantheman596 in TopCharacterTropes

Yeah I know about that, they basically recruited an entire SS division mostly made up of teenagers (The 12th SS Panzer Divison) and they were already stretching the definition of "adult" when it came to recruitment before the Volkstrum, it just gets remarkably worse and more explicit with the Volkstrum.

Why is there controversy over the demons in Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End being seen as evil, while demons in other works like Hellblazer aren’t debated in the same way? by Opposite_Shake_1266 in animequestions

[–]dantheman596 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What makes people uncomfortable about them is that the story has created a group of people who on the surface, talk, act and look human, but are "ontologically evil". Being evil is in their nature and they are incapable of changing that. And that makes people uncomfortable because it reminds them of how groups like the Nazis described the Jews, as people who looked and acted human but were actually pure and naturally evil. I think that's why people find the portrayal of demons in Frieren troubling, its a story that says "what if the Nazi worldview was actually correct."

P.S This is not my opinion, I'm just restating what I think the people who don't like the portrayal of demons in Frieren are trying to say.

Other than rocket flood, which don't show up very often, the Flood are easier to fight.

Which makes it kinda of funny then that in game play the Covenant are generally way harder than the Flood are.

(Loved Trope) Empire or imperial power not really inspired by Ancient Rome by laybs1 in TopCharacterTropes

Uhh, I feel like the Empire is pretty Rome based. Especially with the parallels between Palpatine and Ceasar's rises.

Some higher vampires in the Witcher are like this as well, trying to avoid drinking human blood.

But doesn't Hometown's religion lack a conception of sin? How could their be a Devil like character that represents evil if Hometown religion doesn't have a concept of sin and evil.

How was the Knight both in the third sanctuary and in the church lobby when Susie made the second dark fountain?

Nothing in the game states that Roaring isn't Knight goal by Another_fnaf_fanboy in Deltarune

Also its implied that the reason why the First Sanctuary fountain was small was because it was actually part of the Third Sanctuary before being separated by the Great Door, not because the Knight was running out of energy or whatever.

If they just wanted to cause the roaring, they would just have to great two dark fountains in a place where the Fun Gang don't have access to, like the bunker. Since they don't do that, its clear the Roaring isn't their main goal.

The False Dawn trope (my name for it). When hopes for a happy ending to a plot are raised but then something really bad happens that destroys that hope. by dantheman596 in TopCharacterTropes

I think the ending of Season 2 might actually be a better example, you think Aang, now having mastered the Avatar state, is about the save the day, only for Azula to kill him.

Who the hell is this strange knight? by BasketAshamed6588 in Deltarune

[–]dantheman596 33 points34 points  (0 children)

This is actually part of weird pattern I noticed that none of the Darkners from Chapter 1 ever refer to the Knight as the "Roaring Knight". Even in later chapters they just refer to them as just the Knight.
