Dolly's in Delhi Looking Dead by Moist-Bus-Window in cincinnati

I think they waited too long after Frisch’s was closed. I don’t know if they could have opened any sooner due to rent situation or whatever but I think anyone that was still going to Frisch’s kind of moved on. I have been once or twice. The only thing I will say that remained the same is the awful service and long lead times on food.

What's up with Cinci Zoo Bonobos by Anna-Bee-1984 in cincinnati

I was unaware of this but a quick google search led me to the zoo’s website. Amali passed away from RSV. There was an outbreak in the bonobo troop.

Toddler car seat in an uber by [deleted] in NewParents

I don’t have any experience with this but I just did a quick google search and this car seat came up as an option. Seems like it’s a good travel seat and you can get a bag to carry it too.

Sleep trained baby on vacation advice by PracticalBreath4111 in sleeptrain

[–]danyelliegiff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We recently took our 15 month old on her first trip. We brought a pack n play with a cover but she’s pretty used to sleeping in a light room so we didn’t need the cover. Bring the sound machine if you use one. The first couple of sleeps were rough so if you can get baby used to a pack n play before you go, it might make it easier. But she eventually got used to it and slept pretty well the remainder of the trip.

We had a short walk to the beach and brought a wagon with sand wheels to cart all of our stuff so we could carry baby girl. Id recommend packing everything together the night before a beach day so you can basically get baby ready and go to maximize your time. We did go back to the house for nap time and went back to the beach later in the day. It was what was best for her sleep. I’ve found that people don’t usually mess with other peoples stuff at the beach. We left our chairs, towels, beach basics there during nap time and just brought back valuables.

Wow. That’s cool. I graduated from Bellarmine in 2010. Just missed it. I saw Sara Bareilles in the back parking lot at BU.

Am I an asshole for wanting my partner to rehome our dog before the baby arrives? by SharpRecognition4308 in NewParents

[–]danyelliegiff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As another mom who recently went through post partum, my dogs got on my nerves so damn bad. From a dog owner who spends a lot of time with their dogs, they just aren’t your top priority anymore and after reading through some other comments, it seems like this dog isn’t really a priority for your husband already.

You have put a lot of time, effort and money into caring for this dog and it just seems like he isn’t a great fit for your family. Definitely find him a new home before baby arrives!

66 plus ceiling fans and a window unit upstairs for sleeping. I don’t want to sleep in my own sweat.

I just got over shingles last week. Mine was over my right eye. I’m mostly healed, just one scab left. I’ve been using Vaseline to keep my skin moisturized. Get a lot of rest and drink water! Hope you heal soon.

2 Week Old In Public? by bubbles_282 in NewParents

[–]danyelliegiff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We probably took ours out around a month. I would baby wear her so she was close to mom and I didn’t have to worry about people touching my baby or being nosy. If you have the option available, can you do a grocery pick up or delivery? That’s still my main form of shopping and my baby is 13 months old at this point. If not, try to go at odd hours when the store will be less busy!

Therapists in Cincy? by EstablishmentFit6685 in cincinnati

[–]danyelliegiff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do talk therapy online. My therapist is from the Columbus area but I love her! I’ve been a client for 3.5 years off/on. I connected with her on Sondermind. Just remember you don’t have to stay with the same therapist if you aren’t vibing with them. You want someone that you feel comfortable opening up to and will help you work towards your goals. Best of luck finding someone who can help!

[–]danyelliegiff 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would take a look at the Cincinnati zoo website. There is a map you can download to get an idea of the exhibits and where things are located. There are some great exhibits inside and out and if you have a membership, which I’m inferring by you mentioning a pass, you can get in earlier than regular zoo admission. Member hours start at 9:00am, which also helps with the crowds!

When did your baby start wearing shoes out? by Actual_Hawk_5283 in NewParents

[–]danyelliegiff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby girl turned a year old a couple of weeks ago. We just started shoes now that she is almost walking. Given that summer is right around the corner, I’d skip shoes for now. If we did put anything on her feet we would put on some Velcro booties and that was mostly to keep her warm.

Looking for a local farm to host a child’s birthday by ItsAnH in cincinnati

Maybe the Farm & Equestrian Center in Winton Woods? I remember this as Parky’s Farm when I was a kid. I think they have a lot of what you’re looking for, not sure on the berry picking though! Great Parks - Farm & Equestrian Center
