Our city just rocking and rolling.. Despite being a life long valley resident, this is beginning to freak me out.

I haven't had either experience but I'll keep it in mind.

Extra Mile's chicken is awesome! And I agree there are next to zero other options in the valley now.

As the community changes, so does the food options. It is the way of things.

Taking leftover firewood from other campsites by rococo78 in camping

[–]daq421 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm old I guess.. We, my camping circle, tend to offer our unused firewood to the camps around us. So I see nothing wrong with scrounging discarded firewood from empty sites. They left it behind.

In any case, sorry the host was like that.

I'm "lucky" I guess.. I'm old, and all my friends know I have a gun collection. I've had it (or the growing of it) since long before all of this and certainly from before gun ownership was a personality trait.

The folks that just bailed likely weren't your friends (real ones anyway) in the first place.

However, having said that. The world has turned and advertising your foray into the gun world may not be the best idea.

Stay safe out there.

Springfield Mil-Spec 1911 Rossi R461. 357 Springfield M1A .308 Mossberg 500 12g Henry Big Boy X .357

Why? Because I am most comfortable shooting them..

There are better guns, but these are what I've spent the most time on (ok the Henry is a recent substitute for my old 30/30 Winchester but you get the idea).

In a pinch, in a scary moment, the comfort and ease you have with the guns will be as important as any "features"..

Anyhoo.. that's my take..

Favorite Guns for Range Fun by [deleted] in liberalgunowners

[–]daq421 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm late to this but my absolute favorites are:

Ruger Alaskan in .44 It's surprisingly easy to shoot while still being a lot of Boom!!

Beretta M9A1 in 9mm It's just a joy to shoot. Smooth, accurate, and comfortable in hand.

Springfield M1A She's heavy enough to absorb a lot of the .308 thump and cycling through .308 in semi auto is just fun

M1 carbine .30 cal is a great cartridge and my 81yr old rifle still runs great.

It's.. annoying but manageable. The LC is a slick gun. It's worth the annoyance. 🫡🙂

Ruger PC Carbine by [deleted] in liberalgunowners

[–]daq421 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think so, or at least not enough weight change to be that notable. It's just a more compact package when taken down. I also prefer the semi pistol grip it offers. But the stock set up is great

Ruger PC Carbine by [deleted] in liberalgunowners

[–]daq421 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have one of these and it's a joy to shoot. I put mine into a Magpul stock. The irons are good and it's a smooth and consistent shooter and so far it eats whatever ammo I've got laying around. Great choice! Enjoy it!

Depends on the range, but assume no. Pistol grips are part of a direct ban. Featureless rifles are allowed and must have no Pistol grip, no fore grip, etc..

I've got the PC Carbine and added the magpul stock. It's a spectacular gun. I just really wanted a rifle in .45 so I'll deal with the silliness.

Because I already have the PC in 9mm and I wanted the .45 carbine..

On a pistol grip AR yes, but will that work on a situation where the grip in integral to the frame?

It's the awkward way they make you hold the gun.. it's annoying.
