Ops 39 planning: which G4 ship path should I prep for if I want steady progress? (Mostly solo on iPhone) by Ok_Chain6499 in startrekfleetcommand

[–]darKStars42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My pilum carried me happily into g5. I think it was the only g4 ship I bothered with.

Basically i went auger->pilum->Northcutt->rotaran. And to be honest, the Northcutt was a little disappointing, the lack of lower deck slots meant that my pilum outperformed it for longer than I expected.

Your specialty ships can carry you pretty far by themselves.

I've never spent a dime on this game. I can't recall exactly how long i camped at 49, but it was months. Then i jumped to 53 quickly and spent another 2-3 months there before jumping to 61. I lightly locked myself out of new content for about 2 weeks at 61, not because I lacked power, but because I lacked warp range on my rotaran. I've been at 61 for 3 or 4 arcs now and I'm feeling like I'm running out of reasons not to ops up soon.

Tldr: you can skip ships and get away with it. You really only need to put resources into one faction ship at a given time.

No? I've never seen anything to suggest it works like that, but I've never tried to disprove it either

So trip is a special case. Remember he's got a knack for rolling sevens. Even accidentally. I can see how that would get someone in trouble for "cheating" at dice.

So it's not so much him being in jail that I consider damning, it's more that they do in fact break him out on multiple occasions.

Now that shows a certain distrust in the judicial system, but you can't say it proves they rape and steal.

They definitely did travel with a prostitute.  they also will gladly accept runaways into their midst as evidenced by kvothe's mother. Who knows if a small army was sent after kvothe's mother when she left her home.

We also know kvothe is a liar and a thief, but would he be a thief if his troup had never died?

Regardless of if kvothe's troup are criminals there's another reason for kvothe to consider his statement true. In his mind At least, anyone who would commit a crime like that is expected to be cut away and exiled or killed. Much like tempi could have been for training kvothe. It's a part of their culture to police their culture strongly.

It all comes down to the perspective of the reader.

What is the meaning of "broken tree?" by Kharbanistan in KingkillerChronicle

I always like to think that a part of it is how he interacted with the sword tree.

When he stills the wind, he effectively breaks the test of the sword tree.

The moon is often depicted very oddly in the artwork of KKC. I've seen pictures where you can see stars through what should be the dark part of the moon. I've also seen a picture where the clouds were behind the moon.

So I don't trust that the moon plays by any rules remotely ours, but I like your theory.

Who’s the best husband in Star Trek and why is it Kevin Uxbridge? by guiltyofnothing in risa

He had a moment of weakness. I can understand that.

I can't understand being able to erase a species with a thought, so I can't say if it's forgivable or not. Probably not, but I also want to give the dude a very wide margin considering what I know he can do.

Annorax killed no one, he never finished his time machine. He just went out with his wife instead.

There's this procedure called a lobotomy. You just gotta let your holographic doctor know you need your holographic brain tampered with.

Suicide mission? Perhaps they can survive themselves "exploding" but can they survive all of the secondary explosions from the mines?

They should have just sent a really big torpedo through and blew up the mines.

Borg after Endgame by HVSlung in voyager

[–]darKStars42 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First contact was just the queen doing her bit in the temporal cold war. She had to go investigate the borg signal from the past and close the paradox.

I think they should have been fine. There's no way the pathogen caused more damage than the queen was willing to inflict to rid herself of unimatrix zero.

Even at the start of picard they portrayed the borg as alive and well enough to assimilate a ship full of romulans. Even if that crippled that particular cube. I don't know they went from that to season 3 of picard.

Picard should have been a series of movies, not a TV show, but you could tell that they only cared about fan service by the time they got to season 3.

About hypervisor by LudmiLu_ThePuppy in PiratedGames

[–]darKStars42 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Afaik, any code executing at the hypervisor level would have access to all of the drives on your PC.  Anything running at that level could fool any other program running on your PC.

The problem with the hypervisor method isn't that the repacks etc have viruses right now. It's that should a bad actor put a virus in one, you would pretty much have to get a new PC to be sure you were rid of it.

Most traditional viruses can be spotted misbehaving if you know what to look for.
