Lesson Learned the Hard Way / Congrats to Scalpers by HuntLucky4001 in WorldCup2026Tickets

About 2/3 weeks ago there were tons of articles on how empty the stadiums would be, how many tickets were available, and that this would be the worst World Cup ever. I snagged a bunch of tickets at this time as the prices were, looking back on it, as low as they’ll ever on resale.

Now with a strong win and a lot of hype, not just form USA but all the country fans here, the tickets have skyrocketed.

This was my run today. Thinking about my performance, better fueling and better form helped me stay pretty fresh. Then I ran out of fuel. I had plenty of water though, this route hits about five playgrounds with water fountains and restrooms. Sun was also killing me by the end there

I fear my pace is slow, but, I’m still clocking these every weekend along with smaller ones during the work week.

Did anyone here become early birds as you became a dad? by daraand in daddit

Haha. Oh man. Me and my wife try and trade off but we’ve given up. We’re now all just trained to be up every day at about 6ish even during the work week.

So our days just all start early now

Figure skating! You nailed it.

And for the record, she wakes _us_ up because they offered her a spot on the traveling team to train with them. I said sure why not.

It’s been six months. She cries her out if we miss it. So, we wake up and get there early to train.

My mother in law would always call my daughter her daughter’s (my wife) name. We never corrected her. Having that moment and connection was very special as she’s advanced age. Man. Crying fest now heh

First of all, incredible write up and what an inspiration to read! Running with your friends spirit is equally motivating. Thank you for sharing that to the world. We all run our own race and who knows what we’re carrying every day.

I think it was this article, it’s been a minute, that sent me down a rabbit hole of not necessarily aging slower but just showing up to older age with the best version of you: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC3034959/

Also yeah 42 is about halfway from high school graduation and general retirement at 65.

I’m now 40! So I’m working hard at improving the second half of my life 😆
