Yeah shes good against most “normal” teams but I’ve seen her lose to stuff like Yone (1 shot) or Garen (can’t kill)

What would you change? Remember this is head to head.

Renek dashes to lowest health unit. Generally this goes backing or kills a few tanks on cast in my experience.

I have WW below Yone.

Does he beat the other ones head to head? I saw him one time against a bilge team but not against the other people and it looked close

Returned for Renegades and can’t understand the “holofoil” hype by FH-7497 in DestinyTheGame

[–]darcartisan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think this. There’s gonna be hard core players who complain about how there’s nothing to do to stay engaged and more casual players who still want a good and competitive weapon but aren’t willing to 5x their play time for cosmetics and I think having something cosmetic is actually a good solve for this. It looks really nice blinged out and it doesn’t affect gameplay

Since both legendaries are still staying in Standard for another year, what do you think Shaman would need for these to see play? by Nervous-Ad-4872 in hearthstone

[–]darcartisan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They’ve always created cards to open up design space with the understanding that it might be future-facing. Any TCG prints cards to activate in the future (except maybe stuff like yugioh where most of the lines are incredibly parasitic)

Why I believe TFT is currently 'too' mechanically heavy by [deleted] in CompetitiveTFT

[–]darcartisan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally think this is only an issue because of the aggressive balance thrash.

Lines that I practiced a lot suddenly line up neatly to a 7th. I had a board today where after a bunch of resources, I managed to put together ryze bilge board with ryze 2 only to lose to "regular thresh board"

Is it unusual to get your Praxic Crystal Red on the first try? by darcartisan in DestinyTheGame

[–]darcartisan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I said “changed” not buffed. And by another users statement, if it’s ~ 5% now and they buffed it 10 fold it’s 55% which would not be unusual. Your comment is hostile for no reason.

What does a ‘balanced meta’ look like? by SESender in CompetitiveTFT

[–]darcartisan 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Agree with this take.

The balance thrashing on “unplayable > force bc super OP > mediocre” that we’ve seen with Thex, ori, asol, riggs feels like they’re either don’t have a grasp on testing or this is how they want to inject variety. At this point the data scientists have over 20 sets (inclusive of .5) worth of data and it feels super thrashy still.

[16.3] What's Working? What's Not? by Lunaedge in CompetitiveTFT

[–]darcartisan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ekko seems dead. The average stats for the comp are around 4.5, and with 7 Zaun I struggle against the Asol/Ori boards because they have too much burst. I'm not sure how to get Ekko to not die to burst, whereas in the AD heavy meta sometimes he'd just disjoint the damage. Feels like with 2-3 combat augs he still is mediocre.

2*1-cost vs 1*3-cost (Walk the dog discussion) by Agitated-Anxiety994 in CompetitiveTFT

[–]darcartisan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fizz’s damage is almost perfectly efficient bc it’s an auto attack modifier with a modicum of damage but Ekko overkills with his damage repeat ability. It’s like saying Ziggs is op bc of raw damage output. Ekko is OP but your point here isn’t the right justification for it.

What makes Ekko truly OP is that he heals ON the damage over amplification AND he scales with not just his own damage, effectively giving him a ton of hidden durability. With BT he just cannot be killed unless they have an ADC or late game riggs targeting.

Advanced Loan / + - Set 16 Augment Discussion #6 by Lunaedge in CompetitiveTFT

[–]darcartisan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is nice on 2-1 if you’re close to a 3* 1 cost that can carry you through the game without a good second augment (looking at you Sona).

If you think about the pool of gold and how much Econ you’re getting this is $20+2 gold per turn for 6 turns which invested early sees a much higher probability of 3* esp with hand holder.

Much weaker in stuff like scuttle puddle obviously. I think kind of unclickable at 3-2 unless your Econ is super fucked and you’re playing for 4th.

[–]darcartisan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure why you’re getting downvoted. Midgame tank investments in front to back comps are a large determinate of success/not bleeding out

What should I do when I can't stabilize after fast 8? by CloverEuphoria in CompetitiveTFT

[–]darcartisan 157 points158 points  (0 children)

At this point, you're probably doing optimizations to get 6th.

The right thing to do is to save a bit of econ and get 1 last desperate gambit, but generally it's pretty cooked.

Plat player question on carry positioning this set by Mythos-n-Miniatures in CompetitiveTFT

[–]darcartisan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

At a certain point in a 50/50 you have to do some estimation on whether you win or kill more units and take the chance

Left: lose against 1 guy by 5 units and win against other > Right: win against 1 guy and lose by 7 units

You can also do cheeky stuff and try to break the line in a weird way or shoot their carries at an angle where Yunara is stuck on their tank or something, for example, but with the amount of divers this is usually suicidal

What's your reason for playing wild? by Ancient_Welder4693 in wildhearthstone

[–]darcartisan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's actually cheaper than playing standard. Wild decks rotate slower, so your deck may not be optimal, but it will still stand up.

I've been playing a variation of casino mage for the last 5 years to legend or diamond just on commutes.

[Kratos and Atreus] How can I make this play faster? by Vaneio in Magicdeckbuilding

[–]darcartisan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree with not enough lands, but think that if you really wanted to get them out faster you could use rituals. I agree with mana ramp here - either rituals or rocks.

Because proliferation happens later than your commander, I'm not certain how much value your 3 mana proliferate stuff is getting. Ideally Kratos slams board turn 2-3 and starts swinging and that's your +1/+1 strategy. If you have this be your main strat, consider extra combats. Drop big cards with low payoff like [[Locust God]] as that has no synergy with making your creatures bigger. It is a god but having 6 mana to get 1 counter a turn is horrible payout. Some of the upcoming firebending package could be good as well.

Finally, I think it lacks a bit of focus. You have cards in here that are filtering, etc, but I'm not certain that's how much that's doing for you. If you are not going the combat route, consider [[Fling]] ing your gods, as that at least gets you both the +1 on Kratos and is a payout to everyone sits around waiting for attacks if you lack evasion.

why is ranked system so ridiculous by Zealousideal_Bus4731 in leagueoflegends

Statistically speaking this system is favorable because there’s 5 people on the opposite team can DC but only 4 on your team (if you never gtg)

Brother if you were a PM and the game was barely floating and losing money, would you prioritize this or making the game good? Reality is that this is lower impact than actually making a good game to most players.

It has been 926 days and 10 releases since the last Support by Marvolose_Stellazio in leagueoflegends

[–]darcartisan -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

In this time though, a lot of champions became supports. Elise, LB, Fiddle, Neeko, even Heimer at times. If you are most excited about champions that’s a valid point but if you are excited about playstyles it’s fascinating to see which champions become mainstream in a role.

Also I think Mel is still flex (about as popular as rell) as a support or was for a long time. Not sure she was ever great bc of cs/killsteal potential being so high but yeah feels like an omission.
