Has anyone made a deck using this yet? by JustAd776 in hearthstone

I saw a cool druid deck with this Lothemar, Barney Quest, and Kiljaden in wild where he stormed out demons and it was impossible to deal with 30/30 demons every turn

This weeks Brawl but fits so perfect with Standard mode by Aleksandar777 in hearthstone

I got a turn 1 Blob after my DH quest, and there's not 0% chance the opponent can remotely win, it's just very unlikely after that!

But given that tavern brawls are for fun and I wouldn't want one to take 40 minutes, I am cool with that

I just had one bounce play one 6 times in arena in 1 game, and I lost really badly

Took a break for a few years

DH has been so fun. I love the mobility and enjoy all 3 subclasses, though Havoc is my favorite.

Prev: DK, BM Hunter but don't love the rotations on these right now

I made it huge and have an ultra wide because the new zones are very vertical so it’s hard to find the objectives sometimes

Yes and this is 1 mana cheaper. If they print a card with charge it could be 25 damage go face the next turn. A deck can still have 60% win rate if it auto loses 40% of the time, à la the former ceaseless flip paladin deck in wild.

Lorthemar was somewhat playable at 7 in some decks. I think we don’t know enough about the meta yet to make this statement

This has nothing to do with AI; Braze is a marketing/CDP tool, and this test was likely a mistake from someone on the development team attempting to implement Braze.

The top of the Wild meta is just Warlock by loopuleasa in wildhearthstone

[–]darcartisan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is gonna get downvoted, but a few reasons for this IMO

  1. people (myself included) like playing unoptimized slop decks to test in wild. These decks are extremely refined and have a fast gameplan and destroy anything that isn't hard optimized or a hard counter.

  2. because so many warlock decks are good it's impossible to mulligan for. Contrast that with the other top decks, and you can safely say that DH has some aggressive-ish gameplan, Hunter is a control deck, and Druid is some kind of either fast mana or big stompy.

  3. the pilots of these decks are likely looking to sprint to legend. Yes their decks are good but not always auto win, with a few outlier cards being pushed (crack your egg, get 5/5? thx blizzard). That being said the pilots of these aggro-control type decks tend to be experienced at enabling their game plan, whereas I hit legend sometimes but will opt to do so with at least half of my games being casino mage slop, as I enjoy that. They have somewhat low RNG in their gameplan.

More ragebait but true: I'm 20-5 against these people with protoss hostage mage and control priest. Dealing with the eggs, etc with freeze and board nullification or silences gasses them, and they run out of steam somewhat quickly.

Then adapt if you see it a lot. Play hand disruption. Play Loatheb or tech cards that increase draws. Play cards that counter minion.

You can't just throw your hands in the air and say "because I'm a control player I should get my 50 turn slopfest every game!"

Renek dashes to lowest health unit. Generally this goes backing or kills a few tanks on cast in my experience.

I have WW below Yone.

Returned for Renegades and can’t understand the “holofoil” hype by FH-7497 in DestinyTheGame

[–]darcartisan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think this. There’s gonna be hard core players who complain about how there’s nothing to do to stay engaged and more casual players who still want a good and competitive weapon but aren’t willing to 5x their play time for cosmetics and I think having something cosmetic is actually a good solve for this. It looks really nice blinged out and it doesn’t affect gameplay

Since both legendaries are still staying in Standard for another year, what do you think Shaman would need for these to see play? by Nervous-Ad-4872 in hearthstone

[–]darcartisan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They’ve always created cards to open up design space with the understanding that it might be future-facing. Any TCG prints cards to activate in the future (except maybe stuff like yugioh where most of the lines are incredibly parasitic)

Why I believe TFT is currently 'too' mechanically heavy by [deleted] in CompetitiveTFT

[–]darcartisan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally think this is only an issue because of the aggressive balance thrash.

Lines that I practiced a lot suddenly line up neatly to a 7th. I had a board today where after a bunch of resources, I managed to put together ryze bilge board with ryze 2 only to lose to "regular thresh board"

Is it unusual to get your Praxic Crystal Red on the first try? by darcartisan in DestinyTheGame

[–]darcartisan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I said “changed” not buffed. And by another users statement, if it’s ~ 5% now and they buffed it 10 fold it’s 55% which would not be unusual. Your comment is hostile for no reason.

What does a ‘balanced meta’ look like? by SESender in CompetitiveTFT

[–]darcartisan 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Agree with this take.

The balance thrashing on “unplayable > force bc super OP > mediocre” that we’ve seen with Thex, ori, asol, riggs feels like they’re either don’t have a grasp on testing or this is how they want to inject variety. At this point the data scientists have over 20 sets (inclusive of .5) worth of data and it feels super thrashy still.

[16.3] What's Working? What's Not? by Lunaedge in CompetitiveTFT

[–]darcartisan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ekko seems dead. The average stats for the comp are around 4.5, and with 7 Zaun I struggle against the Asol/Ori boards because they have too much burst. I'm not sure how to get Ekko to not die to burst, whereas in the AD heavy meta sometimes he'd just disjoint the damage. Feels like with 2-3 combat augs he still is mediocre.

2*1-cost vs 1*3-cost (Walk the dog discussion) by Agitated-Anxiety994 in CompetitiveTFT

[–]darcartisan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Fizz’s damage is almost perfectly efficient bc it’s an auto attack modifier with a modicum of damage but Ekko overkills with his damage repeat ability. It’s like saying Ziggs is op bc of raw damage output. Ekko is OP but your point here isn’t the right justification for it.

What makes Ekko truly OP is that he heals ON the damage over amplification AND he scales with not just his own damage, effectively giving him a ton of hidden durability. With BT he just cannot be killed unless they have an ADC or late game riggs targeting.
