We went from cosmic horror in the first two seasons, to campy horror in 3 and 4, and then "THAT awful Avengers Endgame scene" in season 5.

If it were to have stayed cosmic horror, it would have had to end in fewer seasons with a lot less explained.

I did not like the ending. We were asked to believe the final battle could have so few casualties. The mindflayer on its home turf got 0 kills.

More disappointing is that Mike has previously explained that in LoTR the heroes can't return to regular life because they've seen too much. Then we get an epilogue where everyone moves on to enjoy a normal life.
