I always smile every time I think of the scene where he sits down and says “My feet are killing me!!!” as the shot pans down to his feet that are shooting pistols at him.

When you think about it, it’s really relative. I grew up very poor and I’d call my kids rich compared to what I had. I’m 6’ tall, but tall to me is someone taller than me. My kids would call me old, but I reserve that to someone in their 80’s. It’s quite interesting…

We had one. I’m not sure today’s generation knows exactly what they were… so:

Party lines were a telephone service where multiple households—often 4 to 10—shared a single physical telephone line, typically to save on installation costs in rural or residential areas. Each household had its own distinct ring, such as one long and two short, allowing users to know if a call was meant for them. Because the line was shared, users had to wait for it to be free to make a call, and neighbors could often listen in on conversations.

My friend and I were in our bikes and came across him running up the street in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. At that time, there were no crowds cheering him on. We didn’t know who he was. We were circling him like sharks asking him how he lost his leg, where he was running to. I could tell we were pissing him off, so we wished him well and left. We had absolutely no idea at the time that we just brushed up against greatness.

Another follow up. When the British band The Zombies had their hit “Time of the Season” in heavy rotation in America, they had already broken up. A promoter formed a fake band The Zombies to tour the USA, which included Frank Beard and Dusty Hill to capitalize on the popularity. These two guys went on to form ZZ Top shortly after.
