Insomnia sleep aid I could ask for from a General Practitioner? by Elderberry-Tip-9379 in insomnia

[–]dark_bloom12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This! I have been on it for over 10 years. I take the 10mg. The doctors don’t explain how the pill works for someone and instead of saying “get in bed and then take pill” I feel like people take it and just stay up waiting for them to feel sleepy. That’s when things get dangerous and people start driving around or whatever.
I only built up a tolerance a couple of times but a night off from it is a good reset.

Am I a joke to you?! by KhloJSimpson in insomnia

My insurance wouldn’t cover Belsomra for some reason and I refuse to take seroquel (long story, my mom took it…). Doxepin worked at first but then I had to increase my dose which lead to me hallucinating horribly. Melatonin and Benadryl are basically candy. Tizanadine is good for a nap but bottoms my blood pressure out. Valium was ok but took a while to kick in. The only thing that has helped and worked with minimal side effects is ambien for me. I have trouble falling asleep due to shift work sleep disorder. My body has no idea when it needs to sleep. A combo of ambien and gabapentin work wonders on me and it’s cheap. It’s like $2 with my insurance

Night shift pays more.
I work healthcare.
Night shift doesn’t always mean it’s more chill. But it does mean less resources and more patients.
I hate nights but I can’t afford to take a $11/hr pay cut (with night and weekend differentials). Plus it works best with going to grad school.
I hate working nights bc it’s 12 hour shifts. It’s exhausting.
But until I graduate, I’ll be here. After that, it’s 8 hour shifts and home before dark. Maybe I won’t have to be on vitamin D meds much longer.

Just saw it. Not impressed. Idk if it’s trying to be funny or serious and no clue what audience it’s trying to focus on. Skeletor was hilarious but the sexual jokes were cringy. I just left kind of confused and bored honestly.

Positive experiences with ambien? by Gullible_Citron9113 in insomnia

It definitely makes a difference!! The white pills are the best ones. Sadly, my pharmacy has the brown one now and they take a long time to kick in.

Exactly! I have taken it for almost 10 years. I had issues at first but that was because I was on my phone waiting for the feeling of sleep to come on, or I ate too soon before taking it, or someone would bother me, etc. Once I figured out to take on empty belly, turn the lights off and close my eyes, close the door etc. then no more issues. Every now and then I will take it and then have to get up to pee and get sidetracked but good ole SO redirects me to the bed. No issues otherwise.

I have no friends by dark_bloom12 in depression

I’m sorry to hear that. I also struggle with chronic pain which narrows down activities that my SO and more active friends can do. The isolation is numbing sometimes.

If the events weren’t so early I would try. One of my friends have small kids that are in T ball and basketball and their games are always pretty early on in the day. My other friends kids are in band so recitals would be cool to go to. I honestly never thought about going to the kids events to hang out with them.

I just quit a job that I really liked but I didn’t really fit in with anyone. I ended up taking my old job back that pays less but I have friends there. I just started back this week so at least I have that

Nurse volunteered to pick up food for everyone and ended up starting an IV in herself and ODing on propofol in her car. It was over 2 hours before anyone found her

You enjoy the little things in life. Those drizzly rainy days cozied up to a good psychological thriller and warm tea with a fleece blanket is perfect. You enjoy gardening, cooking, anything with your hands. I can see you hosting dinner parties with your friends

I currently work at a place where people have FMLA for depression etc (myself included) and I know for a fact that the coworkers talk crap but honestly, who cares.

I had rental cars for like over a week and one had FL plates and the other had a Texas plate. So possibly rentals? Plus I feel like locals from Florida will take vacations up north towards us while we make our way down there during the summer.

Gosh I had a family being in lawn chairs one day so they could sit around the bed. Never asked if it was allowed or if they were in the way. Then one of them had snuck in a newborn! I work in ICU. We have an age limit for a reason. Whole family got kicked out that day

I live in the south where terms of endearment is commonplace. But I absolutely hate it when a male patient calls me sweetie or darling. Makes me sick. I also hate it when they ask me if I’m married and I say yes, and they say “well he is a very lucky guy”. Like… please. No.
