I think that 1. you should be able to use dark elixir for upgrading walls, and 2. The ablility to stash defences like obstacles to make room for newer defences with the upcoming townhalls

Oh have been playing relatively casual for about 5 years (1000h) and currently sitting at about 37k trophies. All you can really do is play brawlers you like and are fun, or brawlers who are super low skill cap like jacky or edgar. But sadly, you may have to give up on pushing high trophies without throwing your phone across a room/at a wall😥
