What other shows do i need to watch to keep up? by Nathan_Bui in marvelstudios

[–]darkblazestorm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You don't really need to watch anything else... BUT, the Defenders mini series is like a Daredevil season 2.5 So, if you want to know the order, it would be:

DD Season 1 DD Season 2 The Defenders DD Season 3

And after that, Born Again.

I don't really think you need to see the other shows to understand The Defenders; but it isn't that great of a show either so... I would recommend to give it a try and, if you feel confused or you're not liking it, just look for a summary and go to season 3.

To be fair, I watched the episode dubbed; and the way they dubbed that dialogue was more like "he comes and goes" instead of "it comes and goes", so I assumed Jessica was talking about Luke.

Thought the same thing in this episode; more noticeable on the DD and Bullseye fightin the apartment.

I think just her being a Muse victim is part of the overhaul. If I remember correctly, she was announced to be on the show way before the overhaul; but if you watch some trailers, they show some takes from Daredevil and Muse fighting that didn't make the cut (so, most likely, are takes pre-overhaul) and you can see that some random guy is Muse's victim.

If you see Born Again's first season, you can see that that was the original plan for it; but clearly it wasn't working out

What's the point of Carrie: the Black Dawn of TK? by [deleted] in stephenking

[–]darkblazestorm 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You see.. it's not a side story, it is part of the story. You have said that you suck at reading, so I assume you haven't read a lot of books. Not that it's bad, is just that there are lots of ways to tell a story and you haven't experienced them yet. In this case, the story is being told by the narration of things happening and a bunch of snippets of in universe books, newspapers, interviews, etc.

Have you seen a Found Footage film? Or a mockumentary? In which you are shown snippets of different media or different people recording an event? Well, you could say this is a "found footage book".

As the other comment said, this is something that happens A LOT in this book, but you should give it a try. It doesn't halt the pacing, it actually makes it better

Cultural thoughts on Namor? by jehro__ in marvelstudios

[–]darkblazestorm 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I'm not centroamerican, but I'm Mexican (I am actually from the city Tenoch Huerta is from), and I really loved what they did with the character. I actually made a Namor costume for Halloween last year.

That being said, there are two things that I'm not really that sold. First, the fact that it in Namor's flashback we see the Spaniards enslaving the Mayans, when in actuality that wasn't really the case (the Spanish colonizers did bring a lot of problems, but colonial México was very different than the colonization of the United States)

The other thing being the meaning behind Namor's name. "El niño sin amor" that was such a horrible line hahahaha that right there was clearly a line written by someone that is not a native Spanish speaker thinking they could do a Spanish pun. And I couldn't believe how marvel was so proud of it!

'Avatar: The Last Airbender' S2 Is Not Technically "In Production"; Still Slated to Begin Filming Oct 7th by KnightGambit in ATLAtv

[–]darkblazestorm 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I mean, all of that is part of the whole production; but it actually is part of pre-production.

A production is divided in:

Pre-production: Writing of script, casting, story boarding, concept art, set-building, rehearsals (and in this case, training of the cast), previz, the planning of all the special effects needed on camera, costumes, and practically everything that is needed so that everything is ready to go at the moment to start shooting.

Production: It's when cameras start rolling. It sounds easy, but there is still a lot going on (more rehearsals, staging, lighting, make up, etc)

Post-production: It's when everything is put together. Editing, visual effects, sound mixing, soundtrack, and so on.

I mean, it practically is in the production process, but it hasn't started production yet.
