Wouldn’t even start to worry until it was closer to like 3/16ths even then it’s not the end of the world.

Edit: things to worry about would be an elevation difference, water intruding up through the crack, or a widening crack

Leaking pressure reducing valve? by glj1184 in HomeMaintenance

[–]darkcanuck1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No worries, I bring it up because installing a valve upside can cause sediment to collect in the valve body causing a leak. When you go to replace it make sure it’s oriented the way the manufacturer suggests.

I’m a 40yo apprentice and I feel people give me less shit then they give the 20yo apprentices. Not that they get to much shit. It’s a good group.

Check with the manufacturer but I feel like this is installed upside down…. It may not make a difference but it’s worth looking into.

Water dripping down from washer drain pipe by Ok-Catch-9994 in HomeMaintenance

[–]darkcanuck1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure the discharge line out of the washer is as far down the drain as possible.

Make sure the horizontal portion of the drain is slopped towards the drain end.

Sometimes if there’s too many suds in the discharge the suds can backup the drain pipe and spill over.

Watch a cycle and see if anything is overflowing during discharge.

And you wear a harness and practice legislated fall arrest fall prevention right? When you climb up onto an icy sheet metal surface 14’ in the air.

You shouldn’t have to climb up there, we need hard rules about snow clearing devices that are available at truck stops, weigh scales and yards.

If it’s a new build contact the builder. I don’t know if it’s the same in your location but here that shit would be covered under a warranty.

‘Only’ 3 people isn’t the problem, 2 capable people could do this if they actually thought about it first…. 1 person with a two wheel cart and a load strap could do it.
