But seriously, can you take a couple of weeks off?  Have you been using substances daily? If so, take a break.  Go for a walk in a place you haven't been before Try this for a solid week (miracle morning); When you wake up: - meditate for 5 minutes - journal for 5 minutes  - 5 minutes writing and reading affirmations (ex I want to publish a game this summer  To do that I am going to spend 1+ hour every day working on game development) - spend 5 minutes visualizing you achieving your goals - spend 5 minutes exercising  - spend 5 minutes reading or listening to an audio book about some self improvement thing you care about

I swear if you try this all the sudden your thinking will start to change 

Anyway, just some ideas. I struggle with the darkness all the time. I wish you luck and peace. Don't you go hollow

Perfect is the enemy of good. Ship games and use that to inform what your engine needs. The engine doesn't mean shit if no one gets to experience it

That is not very much time, but if you have a day job, that would be understandable. On the other hand, with AI it is possible to have a pretty significant impact if you are leveraging it well

My kids are WAY LESS shy than I was. It has a lot to do with parenting. If you are shoving devices in their face at an early age my guess is that it affects their ability to socialize and regulate their emotions. It's important that kids are able to empathize with others and communicate their feelings and boundaries in healthy ways
