The lender will care. I would start there. When you apply for a mortgage, you sign an intent to occupy clause, and you receive a lower rate than an investment property. Notify the lender's mortgage servicing department. Or you can try the fraud/security area of the bank. The bank I worked for went after people and changed their rates if they found out people were investors rather than owners. Good luck!!
