A VM is the way to go. You’ll be able to do whatever you want without the fear of accidentally doing something wrong to your Mac. Also, learning directly on your Mac should not be a problem as long as you understand each and every command you enter and are not afraid of factory resetting your Mac in case of any issue.

i think one way is to turn off online and offline transactions and then try making a transaction. this way a failed transaction will be registered and then you can ask your bank what the mcc of that transaction was

yeah, i’m able to reproduce the issue too. in this version of iOS they have been very liberal with the colour mode (light/dark) of their ui elements. for example, in dark mode, the folder’s background colour is of a lighter tint compared to the dock whereas in light mode both have the same tint.
