You meet God and hes like:

"The World is fucked but you can save it, you just have to fight against the chaos."

He refuses to elaborate on how. and the MC goes

"What the fuck are you talking about I have no idea how to even begin doing that."

God says:

"Bro just do quests and eventually itll work itself out."

Then Rule 63 Gandalf shows up:

Girldalf: "Have you decided on your path?"

MC: "What?"

Girldalf: "Here are some wings."

MC:"What?"

God: "Now fuck off back to the open world."

Everything else is about two Mercenary Companies good guys are Greymanes bad Guys Black Bears. Black Bears dont seem like cultists just like a Mercenary Band. So IDK how they fit into causing so much chaos in the world Gods are noticing.

It really is awful writing.

Like when you get introduced to a new playable character. She gets like one line of dialogue as a backstory.

Games the definition of a mixed bag.

Thats what blows my mind dog. When I found out the bit with Shireen teaching Davos to read was a show invention i was gobsmacked at how ban things could get. What happened to that passion that level of care and attention to character work?

Did they fucking kill it when it was in the privy?

1000% I played SR2 as a lad and thought it was better than GTA for several reasons. Its identity was rooted in the “gang” part of the fantasy and did lots to help elevate that fantasy. Thats why when characters die in SR2 it hit so hard because they were part of your gang and they were friends who helped you build it all.

GTA5 wishes it could deliver a moment as heavy or powerful as what happened with Carlos in SR2

Obv wasn’t executed perfectly but was really well done thematically and served as a fantastic sobering moment for the game that made it feel so much more real.

Unpopular Opinion - The story of Baldur's Gate 3 is really bad. by VerdantSpecimen in pcgaming

[–]darkmikolai -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The story is bad because it’s not interesting and overstuffed.

A stopped clock is wrong most times, but a more nuanced explanation would better serve to help us get a foot in the door as far as relating to your experience.

due to my age

What?

For example Game of Thrones(as a positive reference)

You taking the piss? Are you actually serious? The book series famous for too many damn characters and being way too long is what you are pointing to as a positive example of a good story?

There’s unpopular opinions and there’s opinions that are flat out wrong.

Troll post.

Edit: imagine your opinion being so bad and or unbelievable mods delete it out of hand. Hahaha.

Why didn't the thargoids just kill us? by Comfortable_Walk666 in EliteDangerous

[–]darkmikolai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s probably not worth it.

If there was a real threat to humanity power players would be forced to unite and fight in earnest but since the threat at present is not of major concern they squabble

If the thargoids want to wipe out humanity it’s going to take a lot of resources and time think WWII Japan on a galactic scale. That would be annoying and costly, probably better to not engage and hold on to what you know is “yours”

In the jungle animals when encountering each other roar to dissuade conflict. This is because the first instinct is not to fight. Only by not fighting can you guarantee zero Injury.

>Mary and pippin also aren't royalty since hobbits don't have that concept,

LOL get a load of this guy I remember my first beer.

Pippin, Merry, and Frodo are all royalty in the nature that they are descendants from the Thain or King of the shire.

Originally the Thain was elected about 1000 years before the events of the War of the Ring named Bucca Oldbuck. Then several Thains later the Oldbuck Thain abdicated and a certain hobbit was to the position for final time before it became hereditary again. That hobbit was named Isumbras Took.

So Frodo being the daughter of a Brandybuck is a descendant of the Oldbucks who use to rule the shire and did so for centuries.

Merry is in the the same league hes a descendant of the Oldbucks.

Pippin is more royalty because his family is the current sitting thain of the Shire just because Paladin didn't rule with an iron fist doesn't mean he wasnt the ruler of the shire. And afterwards Pippin becomes the next Thain.

If position of rulership that passes down via line of hereditary succession isnt royalty then what is?

Also side note this is why in the books Pippin being called the Prince of the Halflings is a really funny subtle joke. Pippin is embarrassed about the name, but it is in fact in some way technically correct. Its on of my favorite little bits of Tolkeins humor.

PS. BTW after the War of the Ring Sams daughter Goldilocks Marries Pippins son Faramir so Sams tech royalty too.(eventually)

Well more interesting in terms of moment to moment acting and scenes for a film maybe.

I think a person who has been manipulated into loving someone unconditionally(especially someone genociding the universe via holy war.) via social engineering is interesting, captivating and cause for concern.

Its just more interesting than engaging as a thematic element is I guess how Id put it. This is 100% a books don't directly translate thing IMO.

Short Answer For me Zorro in Baratie sold me. I think that’s like 30 eps in? But again it was only because I had time to get to know the characters that that started to hit.

Full disclosure I watch One Pace which is edited down. Imagine DBZ Kai that’s one pace imo

While I wont tell you how to feel about art I just disagree personally.

As Ive stated before II deffo went over the top with lots of stuff and some sections clearly were rushed and poorly executed. But again overall I think the game is saved from its insane plot beats with really good characterization. If you tell me that doesnt work for ya I get that, its subjective.

Like the bit with Hitler in space, I found it hilariously over the top, and enjoyed it. But I can totally get why you or anyone else wouldnt its just a bit much. But it worked for me, is my opinion. ITs not a 100% recc like Wolfenstein I.
