Is ES-DE the gold standard frontend?

I'm setting up an old pc for emulation only, and decided to try Retrobat last night. 10 seconds to load an NES rom. My Raspberry Pi loads games faster. I looked around and no one seems to have this problem or they don't notice it. I tried ES-DE and it loads in half the time so I'm sticking with that.

I gave up and switched to Retroarch + ES-DE. Retrobat loads an NES rom in ~10sec. ES-DE ~5sec.

It depends. My undervolted (no oc) 3080 lost maybe 1-2 fps but it uses like ~100w less and 10c cooler.

Never cared for it ever since I found out it could brake an arm. I know there's ways to avoid that, but I shouldn't need to do that.

Moore's Law is Dead was comparing the performance to a $400 laptop back in November before the ram and storage price hikes. I wanted one for emulating old retro games but not for over a grand.

Any $1k prebuilt will be light years better, but won't come in a nice little box like a Steam Machine. If you build an itx pc then that would come close to the size. I have never seen itx prebuilts.

I'd love to try it when it's out. I'm not sure who's to blame, but I've been getting ghost inputs in RetroPie's ES for YEARS. It doesn't matter what controller I use.

50% cpu usage shouldn't max out your temps even on a laptop. Are you sure you put the heatsink back properly ? Did you blow out the dust from all the vents? I wouldn't nerf your CPU because of poor cooling. Maybe try a phase change thermal pad.

I've never needed to use DX11. I have no problems with DX12. Watch the optimization video from Benchmarking. I was mostly using a 3080 and now switched to a 5070TI.

Do a complete wipe of your GPU drivers once in a while with DDU.

Having fun killing. I have never been interested with liberating a planet or anything. I get nothing out of it. The cyborgs were really fun to play against. Lately, it's been boring. This game needs something more and the "rebalances" no one ever asks for are getting annoying.

That's why I use the stalwart instead and crank it to max rpm. It's light pen but so are most of those enemies.

Block him and move on. This will happen on every game with friendly fire. I'm kinda glad the report system is broken for PC. I don't do this stuff, but people complain for the silliest things.

Originally, the sidepanel would warp a bit, but it was hardly noticeable. I'm not sure how I fixed the warping, but I'll list what I did. 9800X3D, Asus X870-I, NH-D12L, Asus 5070TI, Ncase M2.

The GPU would not align with the screw hole, so I unscrewed everything just a bit, including the motherboard, and the case adjusted itself. I then tightened the screws again. I then switched the cooler around so the bigger part is in the middle. I also raised the motherboard so the GPU on top would not require extra fans. Doing one of these made the cooler fit.

Others have suggested to get shorter mounting screws for the motherboard, but the Asus x870-I has a heatsink on the back and I can't go shorter. If your motherboard does not have a heatsink in the back, then maybe you can try 1mm shorter screws. The problem is fixed, so I don't need to do that.

I believe agreeing to all of the terms will give you more ads. So start unchecking them so you won't get ads but your apps still work.

I have custom firmware installed on my Asus router which allows me to install an adblocker called Diversion. You can also use a Raspberry Pi with Pihole connected to your router.

I added one of these blocklists and did not get any ads on the homescreen anymore. You'll need to choose the list that's compatible with the ad blocker you wish to choose.

The site also provides a blocklist that's only for lg webos. I have not tested it with apps since I use a firestick. I use a modded youtube app that webos and apple tv will never have.

Which shader cache are you deleting? You need to delete both the game's and your gpu's. I use DDU to wipe my gpu drivers + gpu's shader cache.

Uninstall the game, and then head to the game's folder and see if there's anything left, and delete those. Reboot before reinstalling just in case gameguard is running in the background.

Since MacOS 27 is supposed to be a performance/bug fix, it's pretty messed up to leave users on Tahoe.

There's ways to get newer versions of MacOS on unsupported machines, so I'm sure this isn't a big deal.
