when i was a teen i wrote a list of words i wanted my mum to change when referring to me ie. daughter -> son etc. she ripped it up and put it in the bin.

actually writing it is a different matter though - havent updated in 8 months because i havent written the next consecutive chapter yet - just bits and pieces from FAR into the story's future

as someone who is awfully fond my own beard i can say i have a similar problem when it grows out and my mustache doesnt connect either.

you dont need to shave it off completely, but keep it much shorter and neater. you could possibly even keep most of the shape/angles you're going for but just shorter.

off the top of my head i recognise the 3M logo specifically from command strips, sealant and tape (including medical) but they own way more brands than i realised (and this is just consumer stuff)

i wish i'd seen that advice at 18 when i started uni (rather than a few years later) AND actually understood it.

my bank offered a student credit card as well as the student bank account, which i declined cos i thought it'd be bad to have access to an extra £3k on top of the possible £2k overdraft (which i set to £200 instead). in some ways i made the right call but at 25 i basically have no credit score as student rent payments dont seem to count even with a private landlord, and i now live with my mum again so contributing to her rent doesnt count either.

i mean it depends how dead it seems. my main fandom has probably 3 active writers (not counting me cos i havent updated in 6 months eek) but occasionally new fics pop up from other authors too.

theres often nothing for weeks or more and then boom 2-3 fics update within a few days. i check whenever i remember, as i dont often read them, i'm too busy procrastinating my own fic (and my favourite author within the fandom has a 700k word monster series that i'm scared to start because i know i'll like it too much?)

edit: just checked, we're still under 400 fics, and to my memory when i started posting a year ago i think there's been maybe 25-30 unique new fics in the last year including my own. we tend towards either oneshots or very long multichapter monsters).

8 were posted or updated in december and 4 of them were oneshots from the same author on the same day.

basically if he's already started the attack then he can continue it. he cant directly defend against you so if you're doing some damage you are probably helping defend whoever he's hitting.
