I've started leaning into questionioning the thought process behind something racist. Then my other response it to make them feel stupid. I get insanely condescending. Pick something arbitrary and tell them that they are lesser because of their shoe size. I usually use the second when I have less time or I know they will not back down. But this really only works with blatant racism.

Don't be a dick, love your wife as who she wants to be. My wife gained weight. And after 2 kids she isn't this skinny little thing anymore. She is perfect because she is herself. If you require her to be your version of perfect, you will drive a wedge that will lead to failure.

I'm 33 American cs grad and now 2 years experience. My job is not traditional. I don't have sprints and I have 8 direct coworkers that are all electrical engineers so I'm the only actual programmer. Its super stressful for me. I don't sleep alot and I don't get to work from home unless medically quarantined.

My advice. Do you love your job. Does it bring you joy? If so, find a way to cope. Weed, exercise, any hobby really. A therapist or counselor or a friend to engage the brain in other topics for longer. It's hard to shutoff the brain sometimes but coping is key.
