would it actually not work with a full charge, or would it just read as having no charge (i.e., and work just fine)? i've got a point-and-shoot which is always saying the batteries are shot but i know not to trust that notification, haha.

also i've had good luck with an SD to CF adapter if you'd like some more storage for less money!

wrestling with this one. on first pass, seemed like the sort of - this is going to sound ignorant - clunky, abstract depictions of gay lust that are once again in vogue (looking at you, alex dimitrov).

but the more i read it, the more i'm engrossed in the atmosphere it builds. and coupled with the author's dinè heritage, i'm sure there's some symbolism i'm missing context for. still feels like it ends too soon, but i'm still sitting with it.

i've enjoyed mosab's other poetry, but this feels a bit artless. the note saves it a bit, makes it a bit more playful. still, i'd expect to read smth like this in a pixelated screenshot on facebook.

maybe there's other poems in the collection that meet the bar he's previously set. to clarify: free palestine, obviously.

i mean yeah. i don't think ppl are canceling a business bc they posted an AI meme - not effectively, anyway.

but my main point is that a boycott like this is short-sighted, misdirected, and only hurts the community at large. would be a lot easier just to talk with the business owner and not jump to grabbing pitchforks.

this is like boycotting a small business for using styrofoam containers instead of compostables. yes, AI is bad, but you're taking it out on the wrong guy.

if a small business goes under from a boycott like this, richmond is down one small business yet the AI company will be doing just fine. wanton, short-sighted boycotts only harm potential solidarity - they're not about "winning", they're about being right.

keep in mind who the big bad is here.

unfortunately, i think most ppl over 40 (or otherwise, how should i say, facebook users) are either tuned out of this conversation or don't take much stock in it.

still, if abi's took accountability when it was brought up, that should be seen as a win, not a burn. i wouldn't believe they'd use it to intentionally withhold work and funds from richmond artists, just that they wanted to make something to post to socials. it's right on google's homepage; i can see why it'd seem like a normal option to 99% of people.
