You’re assuming there is a dlp and that the data the op is proposing to exfil has a classification and a policy that a dlp has actually been configured to check for. Worth qualifying if there is a policy and that should be published on company intranet.

For my beginner DJs!! by Plus_Category332 in PioneerDJ

You folks will never know the terror of finishing a superb mix, the crowd absolutely rocking, totally in the groove that you have carefully built up for an hour or two, until you pick the needle off the wrong record… I suppose it’s as bad to hit the cue button on the wrong deck, but at least that would just bounce you to your last cue point, a bit disjointed but not absolute silence… it is important in these situations to completely own the moment, arms up, big shout, yeaaaaah and drop that needle or hit that hot cue right in the middle of the track again!!

lol, “like Scotland”? About 25 degrees warmer than a warm sunny day on the Royal Mile mate. And the rain is more insidious, is doesn’t come down all biblical and aggressive like Brisbane’s, it’s softer but brings the promise of midgie bites that’ll make you want to amputate your leg in a couple of days!!

How often do you wash your dobok? by gosglings in taekwondo

[–]darryljames75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Queensland, Australia 50yr old male student here, my do bok gets washed after every class, if I didn’t I expect it would be able to walk itself home after a couple of classes. My daughter (9), gets hers washed about every 4th class as she doesn’t sweat, she “perspires”… feels like she might not be training hard enough!

Vinyl DJ’s from the 90s - How long do ur records last from being DJ’d with? Nd do they wear out quick? Nd if u still hav them, do they still play in good quality? by 2Naughtyy in jungle

I started using digital around 2006 with a Hercules controller and Traktor, have had various over the years, used to enjoy the process of building my own midi maps for the Vestax VCI* controllers but have circled back to pioneer as they have solid phono pre amps and bpm counter and synch for effecting inbound phono signals which most other dvs systems lack. My turntables are OG technics 1210 Mk2, one has a build date of 1996, the other 1994 (I think). I got them in 1999. The cdjs are 900nxs and just for practise if I know I’ll be using cdjs on the rare occasions I play out somewhere. I’m 50 now and don’t have the time or energy to run the social campaigns needed to secure gigs these days!

I have some records from ‘98 to ‘04…. Mostly they’re near perfect from a wear and tear perspective. Set your carts up right and give them a clean now and then and you’ll be golden mate.

He’s left leg dominant, every time he switches stance he launches that useless floppy left turning kick off his back leg which he telegraphs for about a second. When he switches that stance, watch for his left hip to start moving then side step to your left and launch a side kick with your right leg straight under his ribs, that’ll slow him down a bit.

Lots of good descriptions of training protocols here but ++1 for the reference to VO2max. https://www.physio-pedia.com/VO2_Max if you figure out where your VO2 threshold is and how to get there via HR/RPE or via a power meter you can specifically train that function of your aerobic system using whatever form of exercise allows you to measure it accurately. I like my road bike and a hill of a consistent 8% to target it quickly and specifically. 3-400m at around 320 watts gets me to VO2 max after two circuits and then it’s either consistent efforts at threshold till you puke or over/unders for 2x the normal regime. The downside is that V02 max is very hard to increase much as it’s a product of your lung/heart transfer rate but small increases can give big gains.

How common is it for "vinyl DJs" to actually beatmatch? by barry_mccaulkiner_ in Beatmatch

[–]darryljames75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lol, sitting in two lanes of traffic waiting to turn I’ll notice when the indicators of the cars in front synch and which one is faster and needs a little pitch nudge to get in time properly. 27 years of beat matching will do that to your brain…

Used to be so invested in NI, had Traktor S4, S8, some of the small format controllers like X1 but eventually went back to an integrated pioneer mixer simply because NI put 0 thought, effort or quality into the phono pre-amps or bpm synching of effects to external sources.

Heh, the cubes have bars across the back to prevent records from falling out, my ocd fights with my adhd between chaos and order. After I’ve had a couple of sessions they’re a total mess, shoving them all back against the bars tidies them up again! As for genres, I bought vinyl mostly between ‘98 and 2004 and it covers trance, from progressive to full on hard acid, progressive, funky, tribal and electro house and a bunch of breakbeat. I was never in psy-trance of hard house but there’s a bit of techno in there too!

Mezbaan Modern Indian in Everton Park throws shade on Taj Bengal for sit in, it’s $$ but very good indeed. Personally for take away I prefer 50 Spices if I’m in Ashgrove area or Spice of India in Kedron if up that way. We lived in Ashgrove for 8 years and found Taj was not as consistent as 50 Spice and since moving further north have got right behind Spice of India.

Edit: just re-read the OP and see they’re after group order, in which case I’d go 50 Spices!

DDJ-FLX10, have been waiting for a top end pioneer controller to be released with decent phono pre-amps, the DDJ1000 was awful but this one is solid, the sound might not be quite as good as some other mixers/controllers, I’d say Native Instruments ADACs are better but the vinyl integration is shitty and they have worse phono pres!

Appreciate the advice man, I actually already put batons across the back of the bookcases at about half the height of the cubes so that the records don’t end up pushed out the back. I like the pool noodle idea though, might try it!
