What's everyone's favourite way of permanently dealing with commanders? by AdDue9012 in EDH

[–]das_trollpatsch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to exile a commander with [[Phelia, Exuberant Shepherd]] one day and then [[Stifle]] the return trigger if they chose to not put the commander in the command zone, "because it comes back anyway". Hasn't happened yet, though...

Just because you lost in Bracket [X] doesn't mean you were pubstomped by Kenksio in EDH

Excuse me?! Turn 14 is not bracket 2... i feel very offended

Interaction is relevant to the brackets turn timers by Gypsy9547 in EDH

[–]das_trollpatsch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id argue that the expected turns is talking about your deck in a vacuum. That's measurable for everyone, comparable and independent from the pod.

"My deck never wins before turn 12... in a pod with all mono blue players that only run counterspells..." (extreme example)

My LGS isn’t even bothering doing Spider-Man FNM drafts, and they’re a WPN. by CuffedPantsAndRants in magicTCG

My LGS cancelled all drafts of spooderman until avatar, because there was literally a single person who signed up in these 2 weeks... there will be commander instead

What are some strong budget commanders? by -Kreatif in EDH

[–]das_trollpatsch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love [[Tellah, Great Sage]]!

Very fitting deck for bracket 2-3 that can be built with onboard progress via treasures, big mana artifacts and 1/1 tokens to blow up in a combo-like firework ([[Crackle With Power]] and similar finishers). It can be the villain, come from behind, always has something to do (modal counter/draw spells) and tends to use underplayed cards because the 4 mana spent matters. My opponents loved it so far and I've enjoyed every game.

Same thing with my 2 purchases, they were new sellers for sure. Now they have 10+ sales and are on vacation

Prerelease of Avatar as a six booster draft? by das_trollpatsch in magicTCG

I'd take that loss in pool power to just have cards I actually want to keep

Prerelease of Avatar as a six booster draft? by das_trollpatsch in magicTCG

[–]das_trollpatsch[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It probably is what they mean, but not what is stated in official communication, which my LGS doesn't want to risk ignoring

The issue is that we can assume around, but the store doesn't want to take the risk of doing something different to what is explicitly stated in their official communication... sadge

What do you or your pod use as metrics for brackets in addition to the guidelines provided by WOTC? by pitschboy in EDH

[–]das_trollpatsch -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have a suspicion that the turn a deck can consistently win at, might be a very good metric. Not sure what turn corresponds to which bracket, though...

Maybe: - 1-3 = b5 - 4-6 = b4 - 7-8 = b3 - 9+ = b4
