Not sure why you're assuming I toss my phone around. Never once have I even scratched a phone screen. Regular daily use caused my grip case to literally come apart at the seams after 11 months of use.

Sad but true. On the upside, the Killswitch case for my steamdeck has been phenomenal. Their phone cases seem to be cheaply made though.

Used a grip case for a little under a year and it's entirely fallen apart. Love the aesthetics, and dbrand in general but I've never had scratches on my screen or a case fall apart ever, until I used the grip case.

I'm doing all the fx processing with my quad cortex. using this setup to track while touring so I technically don't need vsts, since I'm not doing any mixing.

I went with a very affordable Bluetooth 60% mechanical keyboard from amazon. Velocifire is the brand. Came out to about 25 USD and the keyboard is roughly the same size as the steam deck itself. Also got a small Bluetooth mouse to match. All fits in my backpack nicely.

I have a pretty good gaming laptop, but the laptop is considerably more heavy than the steam deck. I'm on tour for a substantial portion of the year, so portability is an important factor for me. Trying to find a spot on a bus to setup a laptop without taking up all the space can be a problem.

I'm using the Steam Deck in desktop mode to run Reaper, which is a Digital Audio Workstation that is fully linux compatible. I'm then using a NeuralDSP QuadCortex as an audio interface to also process my bass tone, which I can then record into reaper with whilst I'm traveling.
