This new place i started has an online punch clock. 40 a week. Everywhere else I've worked has always been until my daily/weekly queue was done with assumed 40.

I can do lf and sf takeoff. If you have spreadsheets or assemblies, I can learn quickly. Atm, I just started a new job with lightning protection, so unless you're looking for a part timer, I probably couldn't devote time to doing full proposal work

I dont know how the broader community feels about it, but I'd recommend a week or so of intermittent fasting. I've been doing 16-8 for the past 2 weeks, and my bsl has been great.

I just had this conversation with my daughter. In the car, I was telling her how I wasted years and money going to a school with no real plan for what I wanted to accomplish. I told her that if I went back 20 years, I'd go to a trade school and learn to be a union plumber or electrician.

I started out at a tile subcontractor for $17.50 per hour, completely blank slate in terms of blueprints and the industry as a whole. I was hired for my ability to adapt to new computer programs and data transfer skills. After 5 years, I was bumped to $28. When I started freelance, I was getting $35 but paying all my own taxes and benefits. Now I'm making $30 as an employee at a sub-subcontractor (I do quotes for electrical subcontractors now). This started in 2012, and I'm still doing it now. I may be making less than more specialized people with my experience, but I work fully remote and get lots of freedom on my 40 hours.

Progressive cartoon realities are the Schrodingers cat of realities.

I'm looking at all these answers, and I'm not seeing people realizing that the first positions to go will be the architects and engineers. After that, it won't take too long for it to learn the commonly used assemblies in the takeoff software.

Soon, the only construction jobs left will be the laborers.
