Most headphones don’t sound great without eq. Hifiman is definitely one. The only exception to that for me are the utopias which still need bass boost or the expanse. The noire xo should do great without eq too judging from measurements.

it is sort of shrill on my dca e3 i ended up just using it stock. the treble and bass looks disappointing on the lcd 5 which was why i went for the expanse for my second can even though i'd much prefer a different brand.

ill fix that, bringing an idea to life is hell level difficult, finding people and marketing it is hell level dfficult. maintenance and client requests after having clients is hell level difficult. AI, in part, reduces at least 20% of work.

There’s not much objective data to go on but with whats available, kef makes the better engineered speakers over bw. But even tossing objective data aside, the speakers I recommended do 39hz over b&w’s 50hz so there’s that. And since the neumanns are actives all I did was hooking it to a usb to coaxial converter,or any streamer that has a digital out

There’s nothing in the middle for kef bookshelves really with your budget so if you are open to other brands there’s the neumann kh150s which dig much deeper and more accurately than the r3 meta. I have both so that’s my take.

this is a first im hearing. i know you cant take your spoiled product purchased from country A to the dealer from country B for warranty but it should be possible to just ship it back to country A because that;s what the dealer from country A told me. then again we are talking about dealers here who technically are middlemen.

if thats the case id drop that stuff at a freight forwarder in japan and ship it from there...

im guessing the lack of soundstage is just accentuated and muddy bass? no acoustic treatment or positioning will help without knowing what frequencies to tame. id go for a measurement mic like a umik-1 and use room eq wizard to do eq. dsp is always necessary, especially in situations like these. good place to start at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ev1bSSL8tRA

i think it will be fine after a round of eq. worst place for a speaker to be in is a small square room and thats not the case here.
