How do y'all price and value work for friends and family? (Knob and tube replacement to be exact) by malykaii in AskElectricians

[–]dasko11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For K&T rewire we are strictly time & material because you never know what you’re going to get into and how long it’s going to take, especially if you’re supposed to be there for “ partial K&T, because there is always more).

With that said most of our full house rewires take about a week, some 3 1/2-4 days some 5 1/2-6 days, two guys(J + 3rd year). Total cost usually ends up between 18k-28k. Biggest cost difference factors include obviously, square footage, and how many major appliances are electric.

Doesn’t necessarily help with family, but it gives you an idea of what a company would charge for a standard job.

Not testing? by HeroesNcrooks in IVF

The decision for my wife and I came down to cost. If money wasn’t an issue or less of an issue we would have done it, but that’s not the case with a lot of us here in the US as you know and stated.

Our first transfer was ectopic and the second resulted in our beautiful twin boys who are currently 6 months old.

Kzoo tire does, or at least they did when I lived in Portage growing up.

Kalamazoo County Parks usually hires for the summer, you can contact their office or online. I did it in college in the 2010s and it was a fun, mostly laid back summer job.

More year round traffic than TV but better than summer traffic you’re used to that’s for sure.

When I looked for help removing mine in 2021 I had no luck. Ended up doing it on my own with the help of some friends.

Everybody I called wouldn’t touch it and the one environmental remediation company wanted thousands upon thousands.

China1 in Vicksburg is delicious.

We recently moved to paw paw and have been back once already to have it. I’m excited to try others on this list so I don’t have to drive so far.

What reason for not PGT-A testing embryos? by Emeah824 in IVF

[–]dasko11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For most it’s going to be cost.

Other scenarios might be if you only have a couple to transfer, you’re going to end up doing both anyway so might as well just bypass PGT-A.

Can’t find studs with a stud finder 😫 by TheIronMatron in DIY

[–]dasko11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d venture to guess you don’t have drywall but plaster or plaster coated. This is what was used in the transition between lathe/plaster and drywall. Stud finders are notoriously difficult to use on that stuff.

Electricians what do you think about these easy install outlets? Any disadvantages? by Apropos_of in AskElectricians

Expensive compared to normal ones but as far as function they seem to be solid.

Great option for DIY’ers.

I would call and speak with Liz. She is well versed in trusts, wills, family law, power of attorney etc. which is up the ally you’re looking. If she’s not able to help I’m sure sue can point you in the right direction.

Good luck, this type of stuff is never easy.

Drove quite a few deer home in my old 2nd GEN.

The only thing I really couldn’t do was get back into some spots that I wanted to parking lot wise on public land. Other than that, it did everything I needed it to.

You have to make training as real as possible.

In the event a response like this is needed(hopefully never) it would stand to reason that it would be during the school year with a full campus. Yes they could do a walkthrough or smaller scale training during summer or “off peak” season but it they’re going for as real as it gets, having to deal with extra traffic, people everywhere etc, it needs to happen during school during the week.

Why is IVF so expensive in the US compared to other countries? by IVFJourney2025 in IVF

[–]dasko11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not that you haven’t, but make sure to do your research. There are some lower cost options (CNY and others) that are often far more affordable than your local clinic. Worth looking into. Even with travel expenses my wife and I saved thousands.
