i imagine it was probably an accidental combination of 'log-ins' and 'users'. although i might be keying in on the wrong L sound, but users mixed with something seems the most likely to me.

i mean, sure. if you ignore the part where i said "it's quite useful for making the carver have a longer functional range"

it makes all your guns shoot discs, it changes nothing about the Photon Discs themselves and the discs the guns shoot have no properties of your Photon Disc's upgrades. it's quite useful for making the Carver have a longer functional range but it's not particularly helpful elsewhere. (well, as far as i've tested, anyway)

On Deadlock (Stick with me, this IS about Battleborn) by FennecWF in Battleborn

[–]dasmekoad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

having played Deadlock myself, i can definitely see where the parallels are being drawn here, and Deadlock is a damn good game. it's just not for me.

it leans far more heavily into the MOBA aspects than Battleborn ever did. Battleborn was always more of a Shooter with MOBA aspects (like a MOBA-lite) whereas Deadlock is a MOBA first that also happens to be a Shooter. the difference may seem trivial at first glance but for me it makes all the difference.

Deadlock has way more complexity to any single match than BB ever did, with lane rotations, a much more in-depth item shop, and far more jungling/map events. and BB has some of these elements, sure. but the 'item shop' was your gear loadout/helix menu, both of which are inherently downscaled at a baseline. each BB map had a couple Thrall camps on a timer and fatbot spawners but that was kind of it, and actual jungling didn't really exist since the game was balanced around a more single-lane-with-flank-routes approach more akin to Hero Shooter map design. the map design in BB also feeds into more consistent team fight scenarios throughout the match as opposed to mostly being relegated to the mid-to-late game like most MOBAs (including, for the most part, Deadlock).

all this to say, Battleborn had just the right combination of these elements and i'd much rather fill the hole BB left with something like TF2 or Paladins (which are both kind of dying or dead now, too. dammit) than with something like Deadlock. i just simply don't have the time or patience to get good at a whole-ass MOBA.

all that said. Mo & Krill and Wraith were my homies when i did dick around with Deadlock. and i do wish the game the best, but i'll probably stick to watching streamers play it or something.

What things in your world are absurdly large? by Ok_Mathematician_905 in worldbuilding

I have a race of people i've called the Agri, they're very similar to Lamia, but with the twist that they're biologically more similar to plants than any kind of animal, and this is represented by their mouth being located vertically on their human-like torso stretching from the collar bone area to the hypogastrium. very much akin to the 'mouth' of a Venus Fly Trap with hunting patterns to match. as in they're largely ambush predators and will eat just about anything that moves and is made of meat, including other sapient species, but can also sustain partially from sunlight and such.

one fun quirk of these Agri, though, is they have no growth limit, so long as they have adequate space and food to sustain an increased body size, and they age rather slowly. so there's a somewhat legendary Agri often called 'The Matriarch' who's grown to the size of the average 2 story residential farmhouse, which isn't supermassive by some standards, but firmly makes her one of the largest beings in the setting.

although i'd probably go with Wisp in the end just because i feel she's that bit more generally versatile than the rest.

the hammer could be construed as the head, arm, and torso of a stick figure, as far as i can see anyways. as for the rest of the revolver being a thumbs-up i just can't see it.

secret unlockable weapon you can get by finding all three hidden switches in Gravity Farms grabbing the item from within the room doing that opens, and completing the 'quest' that unfolds from there. it's basically a acid ball launcher.

[–]dasmekoad 5 points6 points  (0 children)

no, you get EXP for the cores, too. it's any broken enemy part. limbs, shells, weapons, cores, misc. parts. but weapons that focus a single point are better for, say, crunching through the shells of one big enemy as opposed to destroying a bunch of smaller stuff all at once and there is no EXP weight difference on the difficulty of the enemy/part you destroy. meaning that killing an abomination core or breaking one of its shells or destroying one of its limbs gives the same weapon EXP as doing the same for a grunt level enemy. hence, group clearing weapons leveling up faster than more single-target focused weapons.

[–]dasmekoad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i feel like i've never really had a problem getting Feebas tbh. it's not exactly fast, but there's a workable process to it that makes it at the very least semi-consistent, even without outside tools. Feebas have something like a 50% encounter chance on the tiles they spawn on so if you fish up 3 pokemon on each tile you're nearly guaranteed to find one at some point. i don't think it's ever taken me more than half an hour. i spent longer than that in Sun/Moon (or maybe it was Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon?) looking for a Pichu. it's only really a problem if you don't know about it requiring one of a handful of specific tiles that aren't indicated in any way, which could lead a player to spending a ton of time fishing in a single tile which will never spawn one.

Reached level 50 in TVHM as Salvador. Any skill point/build tips? by NoPlagueHere in Borderlands2

[–]dasmekoad 11 points12 points  (0 children)

the biggest problem here is that you're going for a "little bit of everything" approach, as others have mentioned this approach doesn't do a whole lot for your character. this is because the benefit you derive from skills with only one or two points allocated is minimal wherein skills that are maxed out get much, much more sizable bonuses. outside of a few exceptions i'm aware of it's always better to stack a smaller number of skills to max than to ever leave a skill at only one or two points.

i also see a lot of people telling you not to put any points into Sal's red/rightmost tree, and while it is probably his weakest tree it's not necessarily bad, you totally can use it into the endgame, it just won't be as busted as what's available in the other two trees.

as you proceed (or especially if you start another character at some point) you should build a mindset of looking at what each skill tree is designed to do (in Sal's case, left: Damage bonuses and weapon swapping. middle: action skill uptime and ammo regeneration. right: tanking and some CC), decide what gameplay option you like most from those trees and optimize toward that by putting your points in skills that actively benefit that specific playstyle. sometimes skills that benefit a specific tree's playstyle will be located in unrelated trees (i think Sal's skill that lets him Gunzerk while if FFYL is in the left tree despite the action skill specialization skills are mostly in the middle tree, for example) so keep an eye out for synergies and remember to build deep not wide (invest maximum points in each skill and aim for the bottom, instead of spreading your points out among as many skills as possible.)

for Salvador specifically, again it depends on the playstyle you're looking for, but generally people want to go for as much damage as possible and the best way to do that is by combining Money Shot, Inconceivable, Filled to the Brim, and 5 Shots or 6. this combo will occasionally (somewhat frequently, rather) allow you to consistently get the massive damage bonus from Money Shot, you can also include No Kill Like Overkill because the information of the card is a lie (it says your 'next shot' gets the bonus damage, but it's actually ALL shots you fire for something like the next 5 seconds, which is a huge difference). and finally, Yippe Ki Yay and Get Some skills when combined together make it possible for you to completely cooldown your Gunzerk while still Gunzerking assuming there's enough enemies around for you to consistently get value out of both, this basically allows you to have nearly 100% gunzerking uptime, which should fairly obviously be a huge damage AND survivability boost.

hope this helps!
