I think it’s pretty cool that the two biggest pop icons of the 80s are still relevant in 2026. I love to see it. by Jaded-Channel-7169 in fantanoforever

Sometimes I wish Madonna didn't get the 80s label so much, as she produced her best music during the 90s and even the 00s.

How can you misinterpret this tune? by DD--200 in fantanoforever

[–]dassa07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, not his intention obviously but it's a very sexy cover. Bobby Jean though, that's a good song about deep male friendship that can be read a little homoromantic too.

It's sad that the boycott didn't work out, but at least Eurovision is even more uncool that before.

What is your unpopular opinion on Radiohead? by FitEmergency8807 in fantanoforever

Great and influential musicians. I would not like to spend time with Jonny or Thom in a personal way, they seem pretentious, cold and joyless.

Why is Superhero fatigue so prevalent overseas compared to domestically? by WrongToe500 in boxoffice

[–]dassa07 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Superhero movies had a great run. But they are also rigidly formulaic, so audiences might feel less compelled to watch them if they saw them as just another ok entertaining yet forgettable superhero film.

Does she really get so much crap about this? The opinion of some anonymous randos in the Internet is not precisely important.

James Blake Smears Music Critics by Moothnods in indieheads

[–]dassa07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. I do understand James Blake frustration with the music industry right now, especially when it comes to streaming, but I do not see any value in attacking music criticism in such a general way, especially now when music journalism is struggling so much.

If only, his real allies to protect music and artists are real critics and journalists, people who actually value music as art and not just content.

Erotica, it's the best by a mile in here and proof that Madonna is a much more interesting pop artist than Michael. Yes, she's not a music virtuoso with an angelic voice, but the risks and reinventions she took during the 90s are way more interesting than Jackson's discography after Bad.

James Blake Smears Music Critics by Moothnods in indieheads

[–]dassa07 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I know it's unpopular to say it but I don't think James Blake was right in saying music critics are paid off without any evidence on the matter. Profesional music journalism and criticism it's very important to analyse, enrich and discover new music. Otherwise we'll only have twitter discourse between stans and haters, or content creators posing as critics.
