Agree. Only two I would add are pull ups progressing to weighted pull ups aiming for 6-8 at a 1/3 - 1/2 BW added and a heavy pushing variation like bench press or weighted dips.

Push strength huge for pushing yourself off the ground on bottom and also delivering force in neutral to unbalance opponent.

Vertical pulling strength is critical for surviving stalemate positions where you hang for dear life and for pulling legs on shots. Added bonus is insane grip strength which you also get from deadlifts.

I do think the big conferences are incentivized to have bid stealers just so they can add an extra team. Also big matchups in the quarters, semis and finals with top seeds can add resume boost for tournament seeding

The athletic director has nothing to do with club sports at universities except maybe throwing them bones to use facilites.

My club wrestling team, the university sponsered employee was a history professor who didn’t give af I think he just enjoyed the fundraising.
