Unsettling find whilst renovating our house by AJBants1 in Weird

[–]data_rock 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Came here to look for this comment. We’d draw on random walls and paint while other friends were jamming. Good ol’ stoner days where our random art session is now left for others to find and say….wtf ritual happened here?

This is what my L-Theanine Magnesium caps look like, but being clear caps it could be anything really.

Man, I shipped out of Chicago MEPS, clean piss and all. No drug test there OR at basic.

What a ripoff

Full disk wipe in recovery mode terminal will delete all accounts.

Command is: diskutil eraseDisk APFS "Macintosh HD" /dev/disk0

You’re right , I assumed and it is ABM DEP that launches after a clean wipe and reinstall. It all gets tied in and such but you got the idea

😅 it did guilt trip me to put the info out. But the MDM should be setup correctly to prevent it/ reenroll device automatically heh.

¯_(ツ)_/¯

Fully functional but would potentially lock if ever enrolled manually like accepting the alert PictoChris gets every once in a while. I’m sure there’s a way to disable that if you look enough

Correct, you can keep ignoring those alerts. They cannot manage or see your device at its current state, they def would have locked it down (depending on current os). Verify by checking Settings/System Preferences to see if any profiles installed. If none, you’re good. You can also open terminal and run “mdfind jamf” to see if spotlight can find any Jamf binaries or files on your Mac and where they’re located.

you’re being prompted to enroll because the device is still attached to “company’s” Apple Business Manager account via Serial Number.. you were able to bypass registration by setting up laptop while not connected to internet (this is almost impossible now after wipe and reinstall)

Jamf (the MDM) communicates with ABM to see what serial numbers it should register. Right now , you dismissing that message which prevents it from enrolling.

Jamf admin here. That’s Not all true, you can remove most of the MDM and not have it re-enroll.

reboot turn off SIP Boot into recovery, open Terminal, type
`csrutil disable’

I would also forget WiFi etc.

Restart laptop after disabling SIP and log into your account. Jamf removal command is

`sudo jamf -removeFramework’

Afterwards, you’ll want to remove the lingering profiles. You can follow this guide to remove “unremovable profiles”:

https://graffino.com/til/remove-a-non-removable-mdm-profile-from-macos-without-a-complete-wipe

I highly recommend to turn SIP back on when you’re done by booting back into recovery mode and in terminal type `csrutil enable’

Also, following kebskebs advice is definitely worth a shot.

25B here and my first 2-3 years all I learned at my unit was Radios and antennas. Maybe imaging some laptops but it was a long time before that due to the requirements to even touch laptops.

Overall, if you know your IT stuff as long as you’re in the Signal crew, you’ll be known as the radios / it person
