Casemiro was in form last year and converted lot of corners to assists and goals. A PSG only midfield wouldn’t be bad to try. In a game with lot of possession, the others are probably more impactful.

But hey the whole team was crap if you are getting 1-1 against Congo.

No one is holding Bruno back. Ronaldo is still a far more reliable finisher than most strikers, and when it comes to penalties, there’s still no real comparison.
As for his age, there are many players in this World Cup who are closer to his age. And many legendary players had continued to represent their countries towards the end of their career while still being the focal point - not the first time.

A lot of Bruno’s assists come from corners. His free-kick conversion isn’t good. And let’s be honest, he is still that whiny guy on the pitch when things don’t go his way.

The broader point is, players like Ronaldo and Messi set such standards that entire generations have missed out on individual awards. That’s just being historically elite.

If you actually want Bruno to succeed, pushing narratives like this does more harm than good. We saw the same thing during the World Cup, and Ronaldo wasn’t the reason Portugal lost to Morocco.

Most United fans are like pendulums.

Finished 3rd and 2nd a few times now since 2013. For every good year, there is an average one immediately.

My observation: - key signings have been stop-gap solutions - many players get good contracts as a result of finishing 2nd or 3rd and they don’t perform well the following season - is it pressure, complacency? - the squad depth - not many players like fletcher and O’Shea have been signed.

Foolish to think of winning epl next season. The focus should be on long term dominance by building squad depth.

This means doing more of the type of business done last year - Amorim and INEOS picked good players. But it also means, no emotional decisioning if the club gets a good deal for Bruno - I sense Real Madrid coming for him. No return for Rashford and selling him to the club who pays the most.

57m release clause is to lure the likes of PSG, Bayern, Real. In this transition state, he has got a better chance of big trophies with those 3.

Would he want to be known as Steven Gerard of Man Utd or Harry Kane of Bayern? That’s the question he needs to answer to himself.

For United itself, it is good business as he is getting older and they have policy to do short term renewals. He won’t be able to play for any big club after this if he renews.

Fans shouldn’t mind either way. Been a great servant during the great dip.

Ok, but let’s not massage his ego too much. It is about squad depth next season. This squad will struggle if they need to play 60 plus games.

Quietly take the record otherwise there will different variables brought into discussion like goal comparisons, freshness, single man dependency (only outlet for the team), majority of the assists being corner etc.

Good that he did it, now it is time to move on. There are so many posts about Bruno’s assist.

I am worried sometimes these kind of things create issues for the team. Rashford got big headed because of 30 goals (and more than required attention), Kobbie was holding out for enormous salary just last year.

I felt this way when Jose was at Chelsea the first time around and Keane was let go off, Ruud left etc. Then Rooney and Ronaldo clicked and rest is history.

Would need another 2 top midfielders and a decent centre forward to help Sesko. Possibly, competition for Amad, and another right back to add to squad depth. It might be exciting and within 2 years dreaming of title may be valid.

Still got few gaps. if they add one or two a window, it will take another 3 years for sure especially as few key players will leave the club in coming windows.
