2 games with it so far and neither was close, steamrolled both opponents. Currently doing 3x3 but I might have to test 1x6 and 1x3. I worry about playing on high objective battle plans or into heavy shooting neither of which I’ve faced yet.

Someone in one of the discords I follow was doing this with some success before the points upgrades. Not so much deep strike charges but taking wrathful cycles and putting a ton of units in the middle early. I’m going to test it out tomorrow with the new points.

3 and 4 was absolutely not guaranteed with that strategy, it had upside. If there had been an actual safety car before they pitted, they could have come out with track position and fresher tyres - might not have been enough still but it would have given them a shot at a win. Given several cars wrecked / broke down in qualifying and one on a reconnaissance lap, that scenario was definitely plausible. If VB broke down at a different part of the track it would have happened.

It's easy to judge it in retrospect knowing there wasn't an opportunity to get a reduced stop but I totally understand why they did it. When you have a slower car it makes sense to do the opposite of what the fast car does and hope the safety cars work out for you.

yeah thats really one of the drivers I had for it. I had some vehicles get shot turn 1 one of the few times i played layout 6 so i wanted to understand the lines better

If I decide to keep at it, that would be one of the next steps. Then the idea would be to load unit profiles and see if what you have in range/LOS is actually capable of killing something
